Sling Blade
« on: December 31, 1969, 06:00:00 PM »
Has classic inner core, wrapper around with the Power Track pearl cover.  Pearl green color.  16lb rg rating is 2.49 with a dif .037.  This ball is intended to go longer than the solid, but not as long as the pearl, and the lower rg core allows this ball to have a more controlled hook than the solid, but still has the length because the cover is weaker than the solid.

This ball is starting to be my second ball of choice. It's 14lb but drilled aggressively and hit with some Magic Shine to make it go down the lane further but have even more snap at the backends as if it needed it lol... :-) I feel this ball on dry lanes it seemed a little too aggressive, Even when the ball has been drilled to go long. This ball needs some carry down normally, I pull this ball out on my second or third game and watch them all go down. I feel this ball is a little stronger than hammer says it is and to bad Hammer has discontinued it, because it is a ball that has a place in the game today. Allot
of people get balls and don't get them correctly drilled and say there no good.
I say get get with a Pro-shop and take a good look at what the company recommends as far as the drilling put them together and you'll be alright.

Ball Weight is: 14.9Lbs(Heavy 14 or Light 15)
Pin: 2-3 Inchs
Top Weight: Unknown
Ball Drilled: Leverage
Ball Finish: Highly Polished

Bowlers Specs
Cranker
Above Average Ball Speeds
300-400 rpm(depending on Lane Conoditions)

Well i got this ball for a dryer lane conoditions(2nd Hand) haha boy i was wrong. it just was way to jumpy but i knew this ball would be good for medium to heavyish lanes with clean backends or some carrydown(benchmark ball basicly)

This Ball really performs on medium lanes carrydown or clean backends. very easy to adjust with to hand position or a angle adjust to the pocket. This ball allows me to bowl some pretty deep outside angles and this ball will just come back in and with the diff being soo low, i think .031 this ball will goes very long, which allows me to bowl the deep outside angles and still recovers.

The Angle of the ball if you get outside can be huge and it carrys everything, can leave a couple of solid 9 pins, but thats about it, 10 pins arnt really a problem for me with this ball, just the odd one thats about it.

The Reaction of this ball is just a VERY late snap on cleaner backends but is very controlable which i am kinda suprised, when there is oil on the backends this ball is a arcing ball.

This ball has gotta me my last 3 high games in under 2 weeks, 277,278,298( I Choked left the 6-7 lol)

The Black Widow and the Sling Blade are the best combo 2gether, when my widow is hooking too much, i got to my sling and i can basicly shot the same line

Compared to the rest of my Blades
Razor Blade: Razor Blade can handle alot more oil then the Sling Blade

Sharp Blade: Ball hooks more and reacts more in oil then the sling blade, kinda a step up with i am wanting a more heavy rolling arcing ball

Switch Blade: These 2 balls are about the same basicly for dry-medium lanes, just the switch blade hooks that little bit earlyer and has more of a arcing to it, while the sling blade is a big skid/snap ball

Saw Blade (stacked drilling): If the sling blade is going just a little bit too long, i switch to this ball, with it being a Particle Pearl, it hooks that little bit earlyer

Saw Blade(Skid/flip drilling): These 2 balls react alot like each other, just this ball is more a flip then a snap and will hook abit early due to being Particle Pearl

Overall for a ball that cost me only $40 Aus, it is money well spent, i am loving this ball and i am looking for another one to buy(wish me luck)

Hope you enjoy reading

Brett
