I always loved the Vibe series from the Original Purple to the current Onyx. The ball is very strong and underated. When the description says it's for medium light, i have to say it's more for medium. Don't be fooled.

When i got the Midnight Vibe, i was told that it was suppose to fit between the Cherry and Emerald. By my surprise when i threw my first few shots on a normal THS on AMF synthetic lanes, it was unbelievable. The ball was clean through the front with a angular backend. I tried a few different angles and the ball would recovered. The hitting power was amazing. I have to say that the Midnight fits right under the Onyx. Both compliment each other. When i threw the Onyx Vibe it was early and very archy. I just want to let you know that the Onyx was polished too when i did the comparison. I know that this ball will be very versatile either dull or shiny. The next session i tried it dull just to see and the ball was still pretty angular off the spot. I am defintiely going to drill another pin down and see how it rolls.

Got the Midnight Vibe after a regional and Nationals showed me what I was lacking in my arsenal.  I was having problems after the pattern broke down with everything snapping too hard into the pocket.  So I ordered a Midnight Vibe, and drilled it with the pin above my middle finger, and the CG kicker out hard to the right crossing across the span.  I did this in an attempt to get the ball to lay off on the backend and give me more control when the pattern breaks down.  In practice either a PBA Shark was laid out, or the machine had the remnants of it from the PBA league next to me as there was a big out of bounds.  The Midnight Vibe on this did very little, it was straight for 50 feet, and a very slight curve into the pocket.  Also took it to my Tuesday night league and saw a condition more designed for it's purpose.  By the 3rd game, my Jigsaw Corner was going a little too hard, and as I started to move in deeper, it was hitting a little weaker, so I got the Midnight Vibe out.  The Vibe did exactly what I wanted, good length, and a much tamer curve into the pocket.  Carried very well, and got me to 242 the last game by allowing me to stay in the friction without the over-reaction.  This probably isn't the greatest review since the layout is not taking full advantage of this balls capabilities, but I like the versatility of it, and the control it gives me when the pattern gets burned up.  Fantastic Vibe series Hammer!!

Hammer Midnight Vibe
Weight: 15#
Top Weight: 2.5 oz.
Pin: 3-4"

Layout:
5" Pin Above the Bridge w/ CG slightly kicked right. No Weight Hole necessary.

First Impressions:
This ball goes very long down the lane before it moves, but when it does, very decent predictable backend reaction.

Overall Thoughts:
This is my ball to use when the heads are starting to become slightly toasty and the Grind is giving me an over/under type reaction. I can use this ball to play mostly straighter lines when the oil pattern allows it.

This ball is a beast on medium to light medium conditions on your typical house shot.

Final Conclusion:
Really clean through the heads, probably the most cleanest reaction I have ever had in a ball that I have thrown. It's strength is on a medium broken down house shot. If you desire very long and strong reaction, then check into the Midnight Vibe!

Hammer Midnight Vibe
Weight: 15#
Top Weight: 3 oz.
Pin: 4-5"

Layout:
Pin 2" Above the Ring finger with it stacked.

I bowl in Tuesday night league that has 41ft THS.  I got the Midnight Vibe for Father's day and had it drilled 3 weeks ago.  Todd Adam's Pro Shop (Sacramento, CA) drilled it while I was bowling league so I did not get the ball until the 2nd game. Out of box I shot 244 and 238. The following week I shoot 715 and just this past Tuesday I bowled my highest sanctioned series of 836 (289, 279 & 268).  This ball gets down the lane but makes a great arcing move to pocket. I was able to move in while the shot moved and still carried the corner.  This ball hits much harder than I thought it would.  I was a big fan of the Diesel line back in the day and now I fan of the Vibe line.  Great ball....

I bought this ball because one of the centers I practice in has excessively dry lanes. I had the ball drilled to minimize it's hook potential. I have used this ball for about a month now, and it has become my new benchmark ball. The Vibe gets through the heads with ease, begins to roll late in the midlane area, and has a smooth controllable arc to the pocket with great continuation through the pin deck.I am thinking about drilling up another Midnight Vibe for a skid-flip reaction. To sum it up, The Midnight Vibe is a tremendous ball for light to medium conditions,it retains energy well, and has great continuation.I got mine for $120 drilled with finger and thumb inserts. Great bang for the buck.

I recently purchased a Midnight Vibe to help combat the lanes as they start to break down.  Hammer states this ball is for medium to medium-dry, but I can easily start with this ball on a fresh shot if I desire.  I punched up the ball with a 5" x 4" drilling with the pin above the fingers.  This ball performs just as I had hoped.  When the lanes begin to transition, and my other equipment begins to start too early, I can switch to the Vibe and be back in the pocket.  The ball revs up nice, yet is clean through the front.  This leads to a strong, yet controllable backend reaction for me, which is what I like as the lanes transition.  Hitting power was very good, as well as carry.  A very good ball for the price.

Didn't like the Midnight Vibe out of the box, so i took it down to 500, 1000, then 2000 with lite polish and wow did I get a great reaction. Tamed the snap down and on a fresh house shot fired 268, 259, 267, 255, 257, 279. Then tried it on heavier oil moving right and threw 30 out of 31 and 40 out of 45 in four game set. 300, 279, 267 (846), then 245 for 1091. If it hadn't been for 2-tens, 2-nines, and an eight pin it could have been a huge number. I have the pin above the ring finger and the cg kicked out a bit. Nothing kits like a hammer!

Drilled Midnight with a pin above the bridge label stack to mimic my favorite Cherry Vibe.  Out of box cover was a bit "squirty" so I touched it with a 2000 Abralon pad.  Still get good length and hitting power when the lanes open up.  This is the best looking ball on the market and the performance to back it up.  Should be a big seller for Hammer, especially for the low priceline.

I love the Vibe series. Have the Emerald,Onyx and now the Midnight. The E-vibe and the O-vibe are just to much for our house pattern. The Midnight is PERFECT, as of right now anyways. My 1st set with it was 810. My next 3 sets have been 708,722,790. Pin is above the ring finger with the CG slightly kicked out and an extra hole on my axis. Easy through the heads saving everything for the backend. As a matter of fact I have only been carrying this and my spare ball to league.........and I haven't been using that much either...lol

First Impressions
This is an attractive piece sitting on the rack.  You know what to expect with regard to the motion of the Vibe core.  It seemed clear this was going to be a good ball for medium and drier conditions.

The entry level ball in Hammer's line has basically been replaced with the Backlashes, but the Vibe line is still very affordable.

The Vibe core has been around for a while.  It makes a very predictable and recognizable move in relation to all other Vibes.

The Midnight Vibe has a "weaker" cover, allowing it to be very clean through the heads. It will provide pretty easy length. It is likely usable on varying conditions from medium to light volumes. Ultimately, it's best reaction will appear when the pattern is a little broken in. Once a couple of games are on a pair, this ball will work well.

Comparing this ball to other Vibes, it is complimentary.  It provides the cleanest look through the heads and mids with the same shape reaction at the end of the pattern as other Vibes.  The ball transitions from skid to roll pretty quickly, seeming to have a relatively short period of hook in between.

If you are looking for a medium to dry condition ball or have ever thrown a Vibe, this is a great ball. If you've never thrown a Vibe, here is one of your last chances to do so.
This is a very good second ball, when your fresh shot ball has lost its reaction or is simply too much ball.

Likes:   Just went back to bowling after an 18-year absence.  Started with my old Columbia yellow dot, but it just couldn't pack a punch.  Not knowing much about the new balls, I relied on the advice of a couple of fellow bowlers and the pro shop.  I bought the Vibe and I love it.  Went from a 155 average during the summer to a 185 average now.
