Likes: Perfect Compliment to the Vicious Particle. Goes long down the lane, reads the lane well and make a sharp but not skid/flippish move to the pocket.

Dislikes: Will leave corner pins if you miss on speed or release a fraction, but that is expected with the high perfomance equipment.

I wanted a compliment to my Vicious Particle. Something to go longer and with a touch more back end. Was thinking Freak Out or Icon 2, but loved the Vicious Particle so much that figured would take a chance on the Pearl. Drilled Pin Over Ring Finger...CG under palm...mass bias kicked a little right...then hit it up hard with Black Magic to really get length. Does all that I could hope for. Great length and strong backend, but not skid/flippish...very controlled move and a strong angle to the pocket. Great Ball and a definite keeper! Welcome Back Hammer.

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

The Vicious Reactive Pearl is a beautiful looking ball traveling down the lane. While using this ball many people, after watching the nice ark to the pocket, have asked,"what kind of ball is it?".Not only does it look good, but it is very effective. Things I like about it is...looks good, arks evenly with a nice hook, hits hard and carries well. Of course the ten pin will start to appear, but what ball doesn't do that.I give this ball a "nine" on a scale of one to ten...W.C.Huier

15LB 3IN pin. Drilled MAX leverage with pin to the right of the ring finger stacked above the CG. Bowling on Extremely dry wood lanes. the surface is Polished with black magic to make the ball go long. And it arc's a Little nice and even due to the leverage drill but its snaps on the back end I MEAN REALLY SNAPS!! This ball opens the lanes up on dry conditions for me allowed me to really swing the ball out I could miss my mark wide and the ball would roll out to the 2 or 3 board and it trucked back and CRUSHED the pocket. Hits like a D-9 Caterpillar Bulldozer. The coverstock took a Beating though it was nice and polished when I left I didnt pay much attention till today when I was getting the thumb slug redone for a fitting issue and the cover was nicked up really bad but I think alot of it was due to the house I was at. all in all 10 out of 10.

15lbs, 3 oz tw, 2-3" pin.  Drilled to go long with the least amount of backend reaction possible.  More of an ARC vs. Angle.  I bought this to tackle the extremely unpredictable dry lanes of Aiea Bowling Center.

Well, I need to keep searching.  LOL.

However, I've been rolling it at Schofield Bowling Center and I just shot a nice 278, 682 series, don't ask.  My best game and series thus far in 8 months of bowling.  I have 2 Vicious Reactive Resins, and I must say... I'm sold on the Hammer Vicious series of balls.

With the Pearl, I will say that it is speed sensitive.  However, the way that the ball is drilled... pin above ring finger, no axis hole necessary.  This ball is very controllable and sits up nicely in the oil without overreacting in the backend.  Awesome ball.  Carries well.  Like they say, nothing hits like a Hammer!

I love this ball.
The first tournament I bowled with it I finished 3rd.
16 pounds, drilled Stacked. Goes long then Hits Hard.
I have yet to leave a Pocket ten pin with it.
As long as I Hit pocket I carry with this ball.
Not as good for heavy oil as my Tpc. But once the lanes dry out a little I pull it out. I wish I had found the vicious Line sooner.

I drill this ball with a 5 1/2 by 5 1/2 layout. I wanted this ball for the really dry lane conditions.

I was able to play up the lane and when need circle the lane, this ball has plenty of backend to get around the corner.

This ball was a very good compliment to the original Vicious Reactive. The pearl is very good on medium-light oil and medium oil.

The Vicious Reactive Pearl is longer than my Blade Reactive Pearl, but the Vicious has more backend.

This is my "Go to" Ball when all else fails.  In a long series of ten or so games, I find myself playing out my games on the Vicious Reactive Pearl.  The control and hitting power that I can get from it is something that I have not experienced with my previous balls.  It gives me a strong finish even in the most unfriendly lane conditions.

Once the lanes breakdown, this is the ball I turn to.  I Love it!!

This ball turns the corner and destroys the pins, period... I have had 12 games above 250 with this ball since getting it in November. I only bowl once a week on a typical 10 board house shot. I throw 13-15 to 8-10 on synthetic lanes and above average revs and about 16 mph. I have the ball drilled stacked leverage, pin kicked out about 1-2 inches. I keep it clean every week with Degree and/or Track Magic Shine. Ball surface maintenance is a critical part of scoring on todays lanes. It rolls very smooth and consistant and arcs hard to the pocket at 45-50 ft. I recently had 290,289,279(2)... This ball if you can find it, WAS $200.00+ when it came out on the market. 290 was my fault, pitched it out on the first ball and left the bucket. 289 was a ten pin on ball 11. 279 was a solid 8 pin in 9th. Man, that was a great game!!!

I bought this ball after my 24 year old son shot 3-300 games with his last summer... WOW...GREAT BALL!!!

i dont usually do reviews but here goes my first in a while.

Me:
RH Power Stroker
Ball Speed: 17-19 at release, around 16 at the deck
RPMs: 350-400
180 average
Normal Line: 16 to 11/12 at release, out to 7/8 at the breakpoint.

Ball:
drilled PIN in ring finger, CG slightly right of grip center, MB in thumb. no hole. box finish.

on a fresh THS playing the line stated above, i can use this ball after about a game and a half once the pattern has broken down and some carrydown is present. i find that once the heads have dried a little and some carry down is present that the ball is very clean through the heads and continues through the midlane and makes a nice skid/snap move to the pocket without being over-aggressive or jumpy. i do find that if i miss right it will not recover as well as it did when i first got it, but that may be due to the high number of games on the ball without oil extraction or a resurf, and not the ball itself.

i can also play straight up 10 with less hand or ride the channel and still get a good roll and great recovery and still carry corners. on high shots the ball will leave some backrow pins, but that isnt a problem IMO. on light hits i leave the occasional 7 or 4 pin, but find that 9 out of 10 times i can carry mixers.

IMO - the pearl reactive vicious is one of the best balls Hammer has released since Ebonite took over onwership and production. props to Ed and the rest of the Hammer Team (and yes, i know Ed is now at Ebonite, but he was with Hammer when this ball was released)

add another 300 to our familys viscious awards list. This time it's me(the old Man)!!! This ball continues to perform any where on the lane. When it's oily-move right and get great lenth. As they dry out-move in and swing it out to the dry at 40 ft. then watch it come back and crush the pocket. This ball works from boards 5 to 20 with very predictable reaction. If your pro-shop owner knows your game, he can definitely hook you up with a great ball from the Hammer Line. Don't forget to keep your equiptment clean and you will get more consistent results.

Picked up this "barely used" gem from fellow br member- JKiser01. Class act for those who don't know Jim. Ball literally had 10 games on it if that. Jim's drill specs were so close to mine, only had to have thumb plugged and moved slightly. New vacu grips and I was ready to go. This ball is the perrenial down-and-in ball. Glides through freshly oiled heads and reads the midlane with uncanny predictability. Once it hits some dry, look out! Moves to the hole with incredible power. Hit and carry are typical Hammer. What a confidence boost this ball gives me. Dryer conditions? Move left and swing it out there knowing it will come back with a vengeance. Carrydown doesn't seem to bother it any either. Too bad it's was discontinued. A great ball IF you can find one! Highly recommended!!!
