COMMENTS

Likes:Holy hook in a box!! This ball is easily the most aggresive ball in the Hammer line! I used a 70 x 5 x 35 dual angle lay out and this ball is amazing! With the new Semtex Solid CFI (Carbon Fiber Infused) coverstock this ball gives a strong read to every part of the lane and has great continuation from having a symmetrical core.  This ball is a MUST HAVE ball for your bag.

Dislikes:Might be too much ball for a house shot. ZERO dislikes on performace so far!!

All I can say is WOW!  WOW! WOW!

This ball will be going with me to EVERY tour stop this year.... maybe even 2 or 3!  :)

I currently have mine drilled with the pin stacked higher above my ring finger - no hole.  My game is very simple mind you, 220 rpm, 17.5 mph and I could hardly keep it on the right side of the head pin  ::)   JUST WHAT I NEED for the heavier patterns that I struggle on due to my low rev rate.

You can clearly see this ball restoring LOTS of energy and then makes a pretty intensive left turn.  Many times I felt as if I was going to throw it in the gutter and to my surprise actually hit the head pin.

For a symmetrical ball, this ball hits like a truck and has the tendencies of an asymmetrical ball. It's true #NothingHitsLikeAHammer  :D

BOX Specs: 3-4" pin, 3oz

Review:
This ball is amazing. It's hook in a box. If you in the need for a really strong ball for oil, this is it. The new Carbon Fiber Infused cover combined with the symmetric core mate perfectly. This ball makes a big move in the backend and the carry is exceptional. I'm able to use this ball with different releases without any sign of quit. Hammer / EBI are making great bowling balls and if you're not drilling any of them, you're missing out. This is yet another fantastic piece here.

COMMENTS

The Scandal is one of those special motion balls that arrives on scene, which every type of bowler will love this ball motion. The Scandal offers the a new technology that infuses Carbon Fiber into the coverstock to offer the most hooking potential in the Hammer brand on the heavier medium to heavy lane patterns. The great thing about this strong rolling piece is you can keep moving left and the ball does not stop moving toward the pocket. I am really impressed with this ball motion from the Hammer brand. The Scandal is about 3-5 more than the Red Legend Solid, but offers a much strong movement in the backend part of the lane than the RLS.

Dislikes:  Need head oil for this ball to work well. There are other options in the Hammer brand for the drier lane patterns.

With the new 3 year warrantee that Hammer provides for this ball, this is the BEST bang for your buck!

I think this ball will be a must have ball for those that are looking for something offers a great motion that does not stop rolling in the backend – it really continues through the pin deck! Very versatile ball… You will be impressed!

This ball is plain and simple Raw Hook. It starts early and finishes strong. If you need a ball that hooks this is your ball.

 OMG - WOW!

As a player with higher ball speed and rev count, I find symmetric balls die a little for me when having to move left and still want to see the ball drive hard.  I typically go to a Asym. ball.    However, with the new Scandal, I will not have top do that.  This core/cover combo allows me to still move right but not give up and drive at the risk of reaction.   This ball will be 4-5 boards stronger than anything in your bag.   This WILL be a MUST HAVE in your bag.  The recovery and continuation is just crazy.   I split the 8-9 a lot.   Even from deep inside.   Please check out my ball video.

Likes:  Great dull, matte, or shiny!  The ball Rolls heavy and it really hits hard.

Dislikes:  You need a lot oil upfront.  For heavier volumes this ball is a champ.  Once the lanes breakdown you need to ball down.

Pattern was Fresh PBA Chameleon

This is the really the only pattern (other then badger) I could use the Scandal at box surface and it really does hook.  However that is not the impressive part it was league night trios, my teammates were playing the around the same line as I was a by the start of game to you can really see were the Scandal created a nice path to the pocket for us.  What I like most about the Scandal is the ability to get down the lane and still store the energy even with the heavy box surface.  This is a must have ball for the oil also if you want something to help break a pattern down this ball can help.

Tournament Challenge 44ft pattern

I played around with the surface on the Scandal and used it at a challenge pattern tournament I believe the pattern was 44 ft in length.  I was pleasantly surprised the Scandal with wet sanded 3000,4000 was the ball of choice and I was able to use it all 6 games as well as during match play.  I played around the 12 and 13 board.  The Scandal had no problem finishing, and toward the last two games when the pattern was starting to break down I had miss room to the right and it came steaming back to the pocket.  This is a excellent ball and it can take surface adjustments well.

The Scandal is an absolute monster!  The Carbon Fiber Infused Semtex Solid cover finished with a 500/2000 out of box finish works well on heavier oiled THS as well as many of the longer sports patterns.  It really blends the wet/dry oil line well.  This is a strong, aggressive symmetrical piece.   Great release from the Hammer folks!
