COMMENTS

The new Spike Black/Gold features a new Hybrid coverstock to get down the lane with much ease than the previous 2 Spike balls in this series. I wanted to try a different layout than I am used to using when doing reviews and wanted this ball to start up a little sooner and to use when bowling on shorter lane patterns, so it will not be over/under for me. This new Spike with this layout definitely gets down the lane really clean and helps me control the BIG backend motion through the pin decks. I have seen this ball in action from other staffers & I am going to be drilling up another one to do a pin up layout so I can really BIG backend motion from the new Spike Black/Gold. This ball really excels when the lanes break down a little bit and when you need more backend angle down the lane.

Dislikes:  For me, this ball is not strong enough on the medium to heavier patterns & was a little too over/under for the fresh patterns. I would recommend it for the medium to medium lighter patterns.

With the new 3 year warrantee that Hammer provides for this ball, this is the BEST bang for your buck!

I think this ball will be a must have ball for those that looking for a High RG / High Diff symmetrical ball to open up a lane when the lanes get drier. This ball has a great motion that does not stop rolling in the backend – it really continues through the pin deck! Very versatile ball… You will be impressed!

Likes:  This ball for me was a little different than anything I have had in my bag for a while.  I was glad to see it released as I loved the Blue and Black Spike.   I wanted something that would clear the mid lane as they transitioned late  but would still have a good smooth roll without that "flip" you would see with something pin up.  This ball was stronger than I would have thought.  A nice surprise that it still went down lane quite a bit and retained a lot of motion through the pins.

Dislikes: This ball was not designed for heavy or long patterns. So don't try to use it on those.  There are better balls suited for that.  Not so much a dislike as a " I kinda knew that"

Likes:I used a different drill than I usually use. I used a 65 x 6 x 65 which put this pin under my middle finger and this ball really shocked me. It rolled amazing after the patterns opened up. It started up sooner but maintained a strong back end motion! Very pleased with the look this ball gives me!

Dislikes:Not for longer patterns.
