Is the Big Deal good for big-time oil?
« on: February 20, 2006, 12:49:38 AM »
Hey guys and gals,

I have a chance to pick up a NIB Big Deal via a trade. My question is this: Would the Big Deal by a viable option for me to use as a heavy oil ball? I want this to be the ball that I go to when my slightly polished Total Shock & Awe isn't cutting through. You know, the hardest-grabbing ball in the bag sort of thing. In case you need them, the particulars on me are as follows:
High speed (17-18 mph), high track player with average to above average revs, depending upon the line I'm trying to play. Any help you Hammerheads can provide will be appreciated.

I can't bowl 300, but I can bench 345 : )

Not sure if it helps, have a team mate that used his Big Deal for heavy oil, until he got a Hawg, now it's his 'lite side of heavy oil to heavy side of medium oil', or that's what he calls it.

From watching him, the Hawg does a bit better in heavy oil , BUT, he has a good amount of hand and can change releases as conditions dictate.

Not sure how helpful that was, just info for you.

Gene: I used to have a Big Deal. It worked great for Heavy oil.
I had a chance to compare it to a Hawg i had at the same time.
I bowled at a 6 gamer which had put out a 45 foot shot buffed to 48
feet with left over open play on the backend. It was tough. I threw the Hawg and it didn't wrinkle at all. I threw my Big Deal and it moved. I was playing off 6 or 7 with a small point. The Big Deal has length with backend compared to
the Hawg which has a mid lane roll and smooth backend reaction.

FWIW my money says a Big Deal doesn't hook more than a slightly polished T/S&A...
