Rule of thumb that I use and similar to what I believe charlest has said, if I hit the face of the head pin, I would just move 3-5 boards left with my feet and 1-2 boards with my target. If I went brooklyn, I would move about 7 boards to the left with my feet and 3 boards with my target.
it sounds like you can be pretty versatile and a little work on consistency will take you a long way. You have to play what the lane wants to give you.
When I play down and in, I come through the ball with a lot more forward roll. The further I move left, the more side turn I get on the ball. Not everyone's the same I know, but its something to look at.
