Title: almost a beginner bowler

my fiancee bought me a hammer black widow for valentines day.  i'm fairly new to the sport of bowling and i want to learn more.  here are a few ?'s if anyone can help.  i read reviews on this ball and they all were good but i can't seem to get the spin i want on it.  2nd i bowl right handed and when i'm done for the day my left knee hurts real bad.  is there a certain form i should have upon release or will that pain go away with time.  jeremy

i have my own shoes and there comfortable so maybe i'm just breaking down.
