BWA without polish

Michael or anyone else, have you thrown the BWA without polish on it? I'm wanting to put it as a heavier oil ball due to liking the core so much. I have a jet black and love it when the lanes are on the med side, thanks

I have tried the BWA without polish (used 3000 pad) and it is definitely smoother off the spot... I think this is a ball to kept at box surface or with a little surface w/ FF polish. There are other pieces in the line to handle more oil if needed (Cold Blood, Deadly Aim, Absolut Hook)...

Michael,

FF Polish? = Ebonite Factory finish?  Why do you feel that is necessary for the BW Assassin?

In our house the BWA is laboring in the back as the shot has been very long acting lately with pins sliding everywhere in the pin deck.  It looks very smooth!  Maybe too, right now.

The Black Taboo on the other hand finally doesn't look so dramatically over under.
Would you in a case like that just dull up the Black Taboo a bit with a light scuff?

By dulling up the Jet Black Taboo, it will be smoother off the spot... for me, the JB Taboo was too skid/flippy, then when put surface on it, was a little too smooth for what I wanted...  the BWA is what I needed to JB Taboo to be... smooth, yet angular enough to not be over/under - the cover (First Blood solid) does that for this ball.

I like to mess around with surfaces in the beginning to find the right ball motion that I want in my tournament bag... I found the surface on the BWA of 1000 w/ FF polish is perfect for this ball - for what I see in my game... it might be different for other bowlers.

The difference that I saw with the JB Taboo & BWA with the same layout and surface is that the BWA was about 5 boards stronger overall (earlier & smoother down the lane - due to the coverstock).

Michael thanks for answering Lucky and my questions, that helped me alot. I just really need something around 5 boards or so stronger than the JBT which is drilled with a 5 1/2" pin and it sounds like the BWA will be great in that position with a stronger drill on it.

Yes thank you!  Our center has been wet dry and I have seen a teammate pretty big handed with medium speed lower his average dramatically while looking macho doing it with the JBT.  Can you say ping as this JBT thing JUMPS off the dry.

For the up the back player on our wet dry shot it is a god send as the back end is needed to carry for the Big handed on a wet dry it is a killer of averages!

Now that our shot has gone to mostly just wet it has calmed down to look for this 425 to 450 REV handed guy like the First Blood usually looks for the other guys.  When the wet dry is in.  In general the New Black Widow assassin on this shot that is so slippery that pins are sliding up to 3 feet and staying upright, is just not quite punchy enough in its out of box polished.

Smooth would be a good description round with some angularity.  Hmmmm?  We expect the shot to regain its pop...hopefully.

BW assassin or Absolute Curve?(which has looked good in this house).
