Which widow to drill...
« on: August 22, 2006, 12:39:04 PM »
I have two nib widows and I'm drilling one for myself and one for a friend.  They are both 3-4 pins but one has a 3 3/4 top with the cg 2" left out of line from pin-mass bias and the other 3 top and everything is in line.  I want the strongest of the two in a stacked drill.  The widow with the cg kicked, when stacked will put the mass bias much further right than the one that is in line.  Which one will be stronger with better carry?  Hope this wasn't too confusing....

go with the one with the cg offset to the left... that will be total money... it will give u the static weights to be perfect because of stacking the pin and cg and will put the MB in a stronger position due to it being offset... that would be  the best choice

Thats what I was thinking Sherm.  I think I'm putting holes in the offset...

Drilled it up stacked with the mb kicked right.  Threw it last night oob box on wood lane house shot.  I threw the first 10 with it.  I think the reaction might be better with a little polish on it on that condition.  The ball arced and was very readable.  I'm afraid after the shot breaks down, it will roll a little too early.  The polish will get me further threw the set.  I am polishing tonight before league on the same pattern and will post the results.  By the way, on the 10 strikes, the ball carried from all angles.  I must have tripped the 4 pin 5 times.  Seems like a keeper after a game and a half....
