Besides having a strange name, I believe the Black Widow Black and Gold is the strongest widow released in a while. The strong hybrid cover is a nice match up which adds some midlane traction to a core that already knows how to do the business down lane. This will give bowlers who need a bit more oomph and control what they need, especially if you have a Black Widow Gold. I wonder if this ball will cannibalize sales from the RipD Hybrid with just about the same cover. Like I said, this is the well balanced sports car while the RipD feels a bit like American Muscle. I guess you can pick your poison but the Black and Gold is a fantastic piece.

How would you compare it to the Black Widow Dark Legend?

I'm looking for something that is a little less over/under on the fresh THS, as the Dark Legend (2000 Abralon) seems to skate a little too long through the pattern before a track-line is established. If I play more outside though, the Dark Legend bites hard on the dry and doesn't hold pocket.

It's perfect for me in the second game of the block, so I'm looking for the same motion, just with more traction through the midlanes in game 1. (I'm medium speed, high rev, high tilt.)

Same deal on long sport shots, but I'm able to start 5-10 boards further outside. If I miss inside or outside during game 1, the Dark Legend comes up weak, or at too sharp of an angle, leaving 2-10 splits.

If there's too much oil for the Dark Legend, I'd look towards the Scandal/S, RipD Solid, Choice, or even Matrix Solid possibly

Thanks, I have the Rip'd Solid as well. When bowling on the Carmen Salvino in my sport league, it basically gives me the same total hook as my Dark Legend, it just is more smooth, hooking more in the oil, and less on the dry, in comparison.

When I need hold on the inside, I use the Widow; and when I need to tame an angular motion off the dry, I switch to the Rip'd. It just comes down to whether I think I'll need more forgiveness on misses inside, vs. misses outside.

Basically, I just want to have a replacement lined up for my Dark Legend. So my question is, where will it fit in comparison to each of these.
