Ok, so I feel i've gotten enough games in with my ALF ball that I can give a solid review of the ball.. which i will get to in a bit..
But I even mentioned this to the GM of the bowling alley where i do my leagues at... besides myself I have never seen anyone else throw this ball...And that is including tournaments and other leagues... even out side of my area
Which makes me wonder why bowlers didnt pick up on this ball??
Anyways so here is my Mini review
Drilling 5x5?? i think
Surface 1k
My rev rate : probably around 400 Speed : 16.5mph @ 40ft
So I've used this ball in league and on sport shots and this ball is awesome!!! it seriously gets down the lane very easily and reads the midlane / break point so nice that I wonder if i will ever need another ball lol....
The backend reaction is very smooth and is not snappy, which is nice when the lanes get ugly.. I've found that my adjustments are very minimal, and usually its just moving a board and making sure you get the ball to your break point...
I've found that the pin action is just as good if not better than your mid to upper end balls.. it really does keep the pins low and lively..
I've also used this ball on the Cheetah and Scorpion patterns and found that I was able to score well on both patterns with said ball..
On Cheetah the smoothness of the balls reaction made it easy for me to get to the pocket all while just letting the ball get down the lane and letting the core / cover do the work.
On Scorpion, I used this ball when the lanes got messy after a couple of games and nothing else seemed to work.. I was able to go back to playing straighter basically right up 12.. and found my reaction was awesome.. if i tugged the ball a bit I was either going high pocket, or going pocket brooklyn.. Not running into the 2 pin.. and missing the headpin. And my adjustments was easy, if i went a tad high, i'd move my feet a board and keep my break point at the 12 board.. and repeat..
honestly, If i had the money at the moment, i'd seriously buy 3 more of these balls lol

Yeah the ALF is that good. I have two of them and they are great on Sport shots! Surface changes and drillings really make this ball do different things, can be used on a lot of different conditions.
THey were hot early but they have been out a year now or around a year. Be interesting to see how long they stay in the line up. Great Ball I agree!

I have not heard one bad thing about the Alf. ..people like it...they should keep it around and do a new color scheme. .

You mean you don't need 8 inches of flare on a THS..?

60 bucks shipped.

Jammin, yea i noticed that, when i used the ball on cheetah i had it polished up.. since i started using it in box condition, and was a bit ehhhh about it.. but it ended up being the indian and not the arrow lol..
So using it on cheetah and the ball being polished was awesome... i probably could of used it on cheetah in box condition and not had a issue..
And last week, i took the surface to 1k, and found that after using it on Scorpion, and then on my monday night league shot.. WOW is all i can say.. I am blown away at how this ball still go down the lane so easily and retained its energy..
I guess i am just surprised that more people dont use this ball...

People use it, I bowl a lot of Scratch Tourneys and they is always several there. I think it is a ball that like Impending Doom is sarcastic saying that "most bowlers" want to see flare and hook and flash. This ball does not do this, it can hook just not what people like, hockey stick!
Heaven forbid someone throw a strike that doesn't hook the lane!
my two cents..

More control is where it's at. Small moves and control without giving up hit is awesome.

SO true.

Reason I love mine is not just because its smooth, but because the thing hits like a ton of bricks. Stuff goes flying all over the place and as long I get it to the pocket I'm betting its a strike. Heck tbh even if I go Brooklyn its a strike most of the time.
Been kind of hoping to see a price drop on them, at which point I would probably have a couple more drilled for different surface combo's.
