Other than the ridiculously false rev rates, this video was very well shot. I think that the next one should show the layouts of the bowling balls along with each bowlers'' specs. Also, they should use some sort of sport condition. Well done though! Keep em coming!!

they call bowlers with 450 rpm a stroker...
--------------------
When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

Almost all these bowlers have really fast wrists - not what we would call strokers here in the SW US.

It's hilarious people with NO TYPE OF SOFTWARE to track such stats such as speed and revrate are questioning the guys at a center with THE MOST technologically advanced software and tracking tools.  What would they have to gain by saying someone had a revrate around 290 and it was really 375.  They're not selling you someone's revrate, they're selling the ball.

If they wanted to really sell you the ball as "something sick" they'd throw all the shots on a light volume high friction walled up THS from left of 18 out to the ditch and back in every video.  Opps, that's a buddies/videoballreviews video.  But no one says anything about those videos skewing reality.

I've had my rev rate measured twice.  Once with CATS at Kegels and once with national coach Ron Clifton's software (don't remember what it is).  I know what my release looks like and what my ball looks like off my hand.  My normal release is right at 300 and neither of the first two guys hit it much harder than I do.  Ron's "crash test dummy" Andy is 400-450, so that's another number I see every week.  Obviously I'm guessing, but I still think something is wrong with the numbers they give.  They obviously don't have anything to gain by lying, but I just don't see Jeremy's rev rate to be in the same category as Robert Smith's.  The balls look good in all of their hands and it's a good video, but I'm still not a believer in their rev rate numbers.

There have been some TV matches (both men and women) where they gave some really bad numbers as well should I believe them also?  I'm trying to remember specifics, but not having much luck.  Didn't they give Carolyn Dorin Ballard's as 350?  One of the early telecasts at the WSOB they had a few guys with drastically different rates, but they told us they were very close.

wasn''t the point of this topic supposed to be about the ball...?
not to be a d*ck or anything to anyone but really now. its just like the people saying "oh my ball is dead". you sure its not the bowler? operator error sure does play a big role in this game... who cares if this guy has a higher rev rate than you? you''re the one throwing the ball and can carry just as well (well i would hope), so whats the big deal!? i believe only 2-3 replies to this topic were about the ball...

just keepin it real..

Revrates are legit in my eyes, Hunt and Flunder absolutely rip the logos off the ball. I have seen both in person and they are every bit of 550+ rpms.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the feedback on the videos.  We tried really hard to give everyone a lot of different players, styles, and ball motions to look at.  Do you have a suggestion for us?  If so, feel free to send them over to jussery@hammerbowling.com.  Thanks!

Wha was he oil pattern bowled on.  i may have missed it.  I really have a hard time getting a ball not to over hook on short dry pattern..  everyone talks me out of buying a urethane.  I am hopping one of these will fit the bill.

Really liked the variety of different players. Wish i could have seen the layouts thought.

And a 450rpm Stroker? hahahahahahahahah. Yeah okay. Last time i checked anything over 375 is a cranker.

I liked the video and it obvious that Hammer is trying some new things. I liked the color line tracking with different balls used and different bowlers. You can get a good idea of what path the ball will take to the break point with the different releases from different bowlers. The monologue while they were bowling gave the video a nice touch. I have watched Jeremy Hunt bowl several times and trust me, his rev rate and ball speed is up there. I think the videos and TV shows seem to slow down things a bit compared to watching it live. Jeremy will not be on this board for a couple days. For those that really want the layouts of the balls, I am sure Jeremy will discuss them with you.

You have to remember what the ball is being tested and what it is being tested on. If you are testing a dry lane ball...you wouldn't put it on a flood and then try to explain why it was so straight....

High Street - Kegel - 44ft. recreation pattern thus the test on dryer easier pattern.

so compared to what ball, how much weaker or stronger is it?

Cherry Vibe
Emerald Vibe
Onyx Vibe

Just curious, I know the vid was shot on the kegel pattern, but how much different would the reaction be on a ths.  Is the Backlash line replacing the Vibe line?  just curious....

on a 39ft ths on brunswick anvilane, makes me wonder that the Backlash would do.  I''m thinking these guys would be way left, pitching right....thoughts?

Ok, so I ordered a red/purple backlash.  Wanted it to be weaker than my burn, but I liked the overall shape of the burn so I drilled the two balls with the same layout.  To my surprise the backlash is stronger than the burn....

Anyone know if the midnight vibe is stronger or weaker?
Title: Re: Backlash Videos
Post by: ramimac on May 27, 2010, 06:41:44 PM
I have both the cherry Vibe and the red backlash

Backlash  Pin above middle finger

Cherry  Pin below ring

My cherry vibe is earlier and diffinately stronger than by backlash.

I am able to play a part of a dry lane that I was previously not able to.

I have noticed my Backlash cleares the heads even when dry, and does not over react or react early.

My rev rate is in the 450-500 range.  my pap is 5 x 0
