Ball Advice
« on: September 03, 2007, 12:56:09 AM »
I am currently switching houses for the winter season and need to set up some new equipment. I bought a Rival and had it drilled 6x4 to really tame down the ball because i have a ton of hand and with my speed it carries the ball motion down lane and i see a lot of backend. Ball is oob. Even with this combo i was still standing on 35, hitting around 20-23 at the arrows, and around 7-10 at the break point. Dont get me wrong i am perfectly comfortable with playing deep and the ball turned and hit hard. But i just dont want to start there because ill never move right to straighten out. I once experimented with a Shift and put the pin 7 3/16 from my pap, and the mb was 2-3" from my track area, no weight hole, oob. The ball got down lane with no effort and the ball had really good reaction. I am posting this here because my shop has a Black Widow Pearl with a 3" pin, and is almost completely stacked. I was thinking of going 7-7 1/4 pin up, with the mb in a good spot so it turns the corner. Trying to diversify my bag so this ball is either going to be a Hammer or a Storm. He also has a T-Road Pearl and i know there have been a few comparisons on here... Also read good things on the Cherry Vibe so that is another option as well. All feedback is appreciated. BTW, the house is oiled ten to ten, i believe it is around 41 feet but i dont think it has a lot of volume, and they said that the pattern is rounded off. Meaning that it doesn't look like bars of oil, but rather one big mound as in the overall oil shape as you head down lane. If anyone else has bowled here, Surf in Oceanside CA, i would appreciate some insight. Thanks

True but then dont forget that the backend will increase as well. So it would go longer but then turn harder and id have to move right back to compensate for all the backend...
