I've narrowed the search down to a total of four possibilities to replace a Brunswick Classic Zone benchmark piece. Two remaining possibilities are the Raw Hammer Anger and Raw Hammer Doom. Can I get some opinions on how either of them might fit as a benchmark piece? I'm afraid one might be too strong and the other to weak. And, please, can we keep the responses focused on these two Hammer items?

The Anger is a great piece. I believe it is certainly a ball any style could build an arsenal around. I've used mine on a variety of patterns, including the Dennys World Championships, Shark, Scorpion, Cheetah, and some house conditions. I think it offers a great read of the lane condition without being too sensitive to either oil or dry.
I don't think the DOOM would be a good choice for a benchmark ball. I guess if you took the shine off it, then maybe, but I'm not sure. I haven't taken the shine off mine, but I can tell you it really is a good ball in OOB condition.
Good luck!
Andrew
