just got one ...surface is box condition shot 686 and 592 first 6 games i avg 212 in that league...ball goes a long for me it is drilled with the #1 drilling ..but i am affraid that 2000 might be to early what should i do

Bring the cover to 4000 and see if that does the trick.  If not, then polish it.

It's already 4000 OOB

A well worn 2000 pad won't be as aggressive as a new one, so that might be a step.  I'm not sure if 2000 polished would be between 2000 abralon and 4000 abralon, but that could also be an option.  

Just remember, with polish it can take a few games to get a consistent reaction.  Back in my early years of coverstock prep I was too fast to decide that I didn't like the ball polished, but now I know that a few games helps even the reaction out a bit.

I had the same thing with mine. Kind of took the chance on 1000 grit abralon and was happily surprised. Definitely doesn't struggle to get down the lane at all. Don't be afraid of this thing!
