Title: Bite and Oil

For all of you who have a Bite, how does it handle in the longer and heavier oil conditions? How does it handle carrydown? I'm looking into a real good heavy oil ball and the bite has crossed my mind. Thanks for responding

I have not used my Bite on a heavy, longer pattern. I'm leaning to say that the Bite would not handle that type pattern as well as a ball that was intended for heavy oil. The Bite goes long in medium oil and it just may go a little bit too far in heavy oil. If you are intending on using it on heavy oil, you may want to drill it pin down.

You may also have to tweak the cover a little to get it to break earlier. OOB would just go too long. JMO.

mine is 2000 and it handles heavy oil and carrydown fine so I would say same tweak the cover so it will handle heavier oil if thats what your gona use it for

I'm going to say no, mine is at 2000 as well and it is still super clean through the heads and mids. In my opinion the BWB is a medium to slightly  medium heavy oil ball at best.......

The Bite gets a pretty good amount of length before it picks up and starts charging, so, unless you are a slow-speed bowler, I would not suggest the
Bite for heavier patterns.

For heavy, go with something that picks up sooner and is more consistent throughout the lane.

I have to disagree with Gene on this one.  The BITE has a very strong cover and core.  I got a chance to use this ball on a good amount of oil and it read the pattern very well in box condition.  

I personally don't see how anyone can say this ball is not good for heavier/long oil?  That's exactly what this ball is good for!

If this ball doesn't grab soon enough on the condition your bowling on then adjust the cover to a lower grit!

If your looking for heavy patterns like that. Go with the Anger.

The Bite has an amazing read on the Longer Heavier Patterns, but it does depend on style speed and rev rate of course...

I had the opportunity to throw this ball when I made it threw the TQR at teh constructionjobs.com championship in Reno, NV (the one that Tommy Jones won) and the Bite gave me a great look, the main thing that slowed me down was a lot of splits because of the movement of oil constantly...

was a great experience and being able to throw the brand new Bite at the time was awesome because it was taking on that long heavy pattern like a champ, my Anger wouldnt even wrinkle...

The only other ball I had a look with was a 2000 Grit No Mercy, but that wasnt getting the backend reaction that Bite was providing...
