I'm waiting for my second Doom/Pain but I need a heavy oil ball my Big One has to long of a pin. The Real Deal I use has a short pin (1 1/2)for oil and it gives me my down/in shot  but I would like to have little swing shot in oil. Being a stroker w/med revs and high track which would be better for me Widow or Hawg Zilla . I use 14# balls and must watch the speed on oil or I will throw it past the breakpt thank you for any help and suggestions.

The hawg-zilla will be a much better heavy oil ball. I have the Black Widow and at 4000 box finish, it is not a heavy oil ball at all. Mediums at best. Maybe with a cover change, it would be OK for medium heavy..

If you are wanting a ball for HEAVY oil, you will probably want to consider a ball that is particle, in particular a Hawg.  Otherwise, as kiser said, try a surface change on a reactive, that will give you a good opportunity to overcome the heavy oil when the Real Deal does not work.

You will not be disapointed in the Big One for heavy oil regardless of pin in or pin out. The only problem would be is if there is too much top weight to keep the pin close to the finger holes.

I know this is a hammer forum, but I saw someone mention the big one for heavy oil, not..

The new Ebonite Infinite One will be a true heavy oil ball 500 box finish with a strong core and cover..

I mentioned the Big One because R-Zito said he already had one, not sure if it is drilled yet, he didnt say. Besides mine worked great at the BTM and if you find more oil than that without drilling the ground for it please let me know.

I agree w/you there Jkiser last night when I pushed my Big One just a bit it went right past the breakpt. the shot was between 10 and 8 and at 40' was the breakpoint. I can only slow a ball down so much before getting erratic w/my backswing.

Sorry that is one good ball for the condition I've been using it the last month avg. 234+.

If you like it for that condition, fine.  But the factory finish is 4000 grit.  Take it down to 600-800 and I'm sure it will handle all but the heaviest of oils.  If you've been averaging 234 for a month, it doesn't look like you need a ball for oil anyway.

Well my logic is if I do run into heavy oil it needs to be in the bag, even if that means it will most likely be a ball weight.
