Does the Black Hammer pearl 78 mellow after you get some games/oil into it? I just got mine and it's super early and aggressive. It's definitely a different shape than the purple - much earlier, smoother and pure arc. Definitely not the semi reactive down lane motion of the purple. Anyway, I only got a few shots in practice, a few fill shots, and a game of practice after league (soft 42' sport pattern). The purple I took down to 360 grit just to even out the shape some. If the new black pearl doesn't mellow out some, I may have to take it up to 1000 since the box surface is so aggressive.
