Title: Black Widow Assassin cover stock
Post by: fluff33 on February 20, 2014, 09:51:42 AM
Hammer website has Assassin coverstock as being the same as the First Blood.  However, First Blood was a hybrid and Assassin specs claim it is a solid.  Which is correct?  Also, Assassin coverstock looks like it has mica flecks in it.

That is the same thing that I saw when getting the ball, but I personally think that this cover is a solid coverstock that happens to have a little bit of mica in it.

Either way, this ball rolls very sweet... I am not a fan of the Widow/Taboo cores, but this ball is a keeper in my bag. Gonna drill up another one with a pin down location in the near future!

Ha same question as FB is listed as Hybrid and BW Assassin is listed as Solid and my wife throw nothing but Hammer. Just called Hammer an FB is Hybrid and BW Assasib is Solid. He said they use same base but FB is A hybrid as to BW being a solid. Hope this helps. Answered my curiosity though. Explains why my wife's FB is stronger off the dry than her Assassin.

The cover reminds me of the Big Block and Big Rig Diesels.  They had just a little more mica.

The BW if a solid sort of reminds me of my beloved Sledgehammer was listed as a solid.

My idea of solids look like the cover of Tropical Heat Solid or a Brunswick Mastermind!

Those are solids!

However the Crimson Red Sledgehammer could be very smooth or could be jumpy depending on the drilling!
