Start with a 500 pad, then 1000, then 2000, and then finish with a 4000 pad.

And do not forget to make an oil extraction before sanding to the finers grits - either at the pro shop or at home (e. g in a hot water bucket). Will also help to restore the ball's performance.

jls do you always have to start at 500 abralon and then go up? I thought I could just use 4000 abralon and I would be at the OOB condition?

You can start at 4000 to restore the surface to OOB, but the poster mentioned "resurface" in the subject line.
