Loss of reaction on Black Widow Pearl?

I really enjoyed using my Black widow Pearl when it was newer, but it really seems to have lost its jump. I did a hot water bath at about 100 games, but IMO it just doesn't react like the same ball. Has anyone else noticed the same problem? Usually pearl balls don't die off so quickly.

I think the BWP is very cover sensitive. I"d open the cover up with 500 or 600 grit, give it a great soaking again, then take it back to factory grit, and polish it again.

You'd be surprised how much you'll get back from it.

After getting the oil out, you need to take the coverstock back to OOB conditions. The wear and tear on a reactive ball over a period of time will usually take the coverstock to about 600 grit so just adding polish might not completely do the trick for the reaction you are looking for, take it back to 4000 grit with polish and you should be where you want to be!

I have 1 that has well over 100 games on it and I have never had a problem although I do cut mine to 1000 abrolon every 2 wks and then 2000,then 4000,then polish with reacta shine.During the interim I use the Reacta shine in between sets.

I clean the ball after every set with ball cleaner. The reaction still died.

And it is GOOD bolwers (no apostrophe).  Thanks for the feedback.

my buddy has had the same problem with his, shot great with it for the first three weeks. now it just hits like a wet fart. ive put that ball in my revivor for HOURS but theres just no use on bringing that thing back to life. guess he just has to get a fury pearl, now thats a ball!

Brent, what's the word on the Fury Pearl in terms of longevity? These Ebo balls are great but the covers just suck in terms of life.  I'm not talking about this one but the other recent Hammer balls that I've owned.

i think longevity is hard to find in bowling balls these days. i think the pearl fury is a great ball, as is the widow pearl. but from what ive seen, it doesnt lose its reaction as quick as the BWP.

My friend has a BWP that has died after about half a season. The ball is now hooking less than a Cherry Vibe, and it doesn't hit very hard anymore.

What did I ORIGINALLY miss?

I have TWO bowler's on my team using the ball EXCLUSIVELY...both ave.s in 2-teens...one of them is using that same BWP in another house...220's
