black widow vs No mercy
« on: November 30, 2006, 01:37:25 AM »
has anyone bowled both balls im intrested in finding how much more the no mercy hooks compare to a black widow (i have the widow and its great for medium oil but if theres any cary down i leave 10pins)

http://www.freewebs.com/hammerbowlingvideos/blackwidowvideos.htm link to me bowling my black widow i dont like to play that wide normal i stand far left play middle arrow and it goes out level with 3rd arrow so the ball stores the energy into the pocket, i wanted to know if the no mercy rolls later or earlier than the widow and how much stronger it hooks

thanks in advance

I have both, and really like both balls.  The NO MERCY is a little stronger and a little earlier the the BW.  I have both balls drilled pretty aggresively due to the fact that I am a speed dominent player but still have 350 rpm.  Both balls need to hit dry boards to react the way the ere meant to.

Out of the Box the NM was (as expected) a little earlier than the BW.  However, after bowling with the NM for a while I've messed around with the surface and have it at 1000 grit currently (might go back up to 2000 though).  I did this to handle more oil and to make more of a gap between the NM and BW as I currently have my Agent playing stronger than my BW.

Out of the box the No Mercy is earlier and stronger than the Black Widow. As to how much stronger...that depends upon your bowling style, lane conditions, etc. But it is a stronger bowling ball, and picks up it's roll a bit earlier.
