Blade arsenal?
« on: March 01, 2004, 10:17:41 PM »
I'm dropping to 15# and I'm running on fumes when it comes to funds; I had a Blade Reactive since last year that I really liked (16#, if someone wants one, drop me a PM) so I have given thought about utilizing an all-Blade arsenal...

Some questions for all the Hammerheads out there...

1.) Are any of the balls effective on heavy oil patterns.  Logic would dictate that the Blade Particle and Sharp Blade would be very effective, but I've heard people complain about how they aren't very playable on heavy oiled shots?

2.) What's the lifespan of the balls... I've had the Reactive for a while, and it hooked like a banshee the day I bought it, and it still has nice backend, but I haven't put that many games on it because I have other balls ahead of it... How will the Blade line hold up over a full league season (each ball racking up maybe 60-70 games)?

3.) Anyone have expierience using Hook Again/"Rejuvinating" a Blade? If the results are good, it may be a wise investment.

4.) What arsenal would you recommend for my 3 ball arsenal?

HEAVY:  PARTICLE OR SHARP
MEDIUM:  REACTIVE
LIGHT:  SLING OR PEARL

I love the reactive, so I'm definately getting another one of those, but what about the heavy and light oil balls...

Thanks, my specs are in my profile, and reply if you guys have any other questions about my terrrrrrrrible bowling (at least as of late).

The Sharp Blade is a good ball for oil, but I wouldn't say it's a "stand left & wing it" in the oil. Just let it float out to the dry boards, and it comes roaring back strong.
I don't know much about the Sling Blade, except what's written on these boards. I can tell you that the Blade Pearl is a great ball for length, and it snaps back nice on medium to dry shots (league shot).
Good luck.

The Blade series is basically a complete lineup.  They may not have the strongest cores in the business, but they have plenty when it comes to covers.

I would recommend a 3 ball arsenal of:

Particle-  use it out of box or hit with scotch brite.
Reactive
Pearl/Sling   The sling will be more skid/flip and stronger at the Break point because of the cover.

This would be a very effective arsenal.
