Blade Pearl vs Sling Blade
« on: August 07, 2003, 10:33:37 PM »
Ok.. I need some help.
So, here are my choices:

Hammer Sling Blade
Hammer Blade Pearl
or
Storm Hot Rod

Any thoughts?
(I am looking to continue my Storm X-Factor style usage, but on a med-dry/light oil lane.)

Thanks,
Kris

I just got the Blade Pearl on a recommendation from one of the reviewers here that bowls with me in a summer scratch league.  I had it drilled at leverage and went to test it yesterday.  Well I am going to have to take it back and get it polished.  This ball has too strong of a backend for my shot.  I am a big guy, but I like to let the ball do all the work for me.  I don't like to overthrow, so I can have energy later in the set.  If I wanted to use the ball for an entire set, I would be exhausted trying to keep this ball in the pocket in its out of the box condition.  Its a great ball and when I keep it in the pocket, the pins go a-flying.  I may get the Sling Blade next week after the league play-out.  If you are a cranker, you may have some good success with the Blade Pearl, but I would suggest the Sling Blade if you are a stroker or roller.

if you wnat more flip get the Blade pearl. if you want more arc get the sling blade.

if you are looking for a dry lane ball get the Blade pearl and polish to 2000. drill it 135 deg pin above bridge. get a low top wt to avoid a hole.

If you want a strong arcing medium/light lane monster, get the Sling Blade. I drilled mine pin under ring 45 deg with wt hole.

It hard for me say which is better becise my blade pearl is not drilled as vesatile as by Sling Blade.
