Consistant and great reaction with the NM Beat'n
« on: August 18, 2007, 02:14:22 AM »
I bought two NM Beat'ns and drilled them to the recommended drilling instructions.  One HART is about an 1 1/2 left of my thumb hole and the second with the HART about 1 inch left of my thumb hole (I'm RH).

As recommended by someone on this site I polished the second one just a little and the two ball combination has been tremendous.  Within three leagues I shot an 289, 280, 275, 266 and a 257.  None really togther except for the 752 I shot last night, 245+275+232.

The backends last night were a little dry and there was good oil from about 10-10.  Seemed to be a high scoring pattern.  I started out standing 24 throwing out through 10 and by the nights end I ws standing 32 swinging 17 out to about 12.  There was three of us playing similar lines so the shot was going away and we had to continually move left.  The ball was strong off the breakpoint but not jerky.  Just a strong but controlled move to the pocket with great carry.

The one I left in box handles more oil but when we had more oil in another house Tuesday night the ball worked extremely well after some of the oil was lifted by some play and I was able to move back to stand on the 26th board.  Playing down and in with this ball doesn't seem to work as well for me.  I wsa standing 21 playing down 10 or a small swing and though I got to the pocket fairly well, I just couldn't carry the 10 pin.  Moved left , back forward not luck.  I've had this problem before with this ball.  But as soon as the condition will let me move left a bit so I can get a little more swing, the ball was consistant and carry was tremendous.

I never would have drilled this ball this way if it wasn't for the big warning label on the box and the recommendation of this layout on the drill sheet, but I think this is a great layout for this ball for the way I throw the ball.  I have a medium ball track, average speed about 16.5 and medium revs.

Now I think I'm ready for the Fall season.
