Buying a 2nd Widow
« on: March 29, 2007, 07:13:21 AM »
I was thinking of drilling a second widow. I want to use it for heavy oil lanes. I would dull it down to 500 grit. I really like the reaction at that grit. There is a picture of my current black widow in my profile. The pin is centered above the fingers and currently is OOB condition. What is a good layout for my 2nd widow if i want it for the heavy stuff or would you think getting a natural heavy oil ball like a no mercy or specail agent. This would be the 1st time i would have bought 2 balls with differnt drillings what are your guys opinions on doing that

Why not just get the NM.  It has a juiced up version of the same cover.

Get a Special Agent. The ball is a beast and it is one of my favorite balls.

I second the NO MERCY option.

The ball is a beast on oil.

I personally didn't like the No Mercy...but that's me.

I would look at balls like the Special Agent, Fury and/or Odyssey.  I really like what I've seen of these on heavy patterns.

Buy the Hawg Zilla with the coverstock at 1000 grit. PLace the mass bias at 45 degrees this ball will get down the lane with the longest oil pattern and have a powerful hard arc to the pocket you won't be dissappointed with this layout.

The Fury, OOB, handles less than heavy - right in the mediums.
