Rayzr- What's the BUZZ?
« on: August 16, 2008, 12:29:48 AM »
I've had three piece reactives before.  I've seen three piece reactives before.

I never saw any of them carry corners unless the lanes were just super flying until they added the extra puck like in the Tornado's and Scouts, and Power grooves thus increasing the flare potential and backend curl.

Why the excitement about this 3 piece ball.  I have read the blurb about the coverstock!  You mean this a true 3 piece that really carries more than just on absolute flying.

Users and ravers on this ball....would you rather have this over a 2 piece core in plastic for dry backends?  How would you describe the difference.
Or would you rather have the Rayzr over one of the puck 3 piece reactives of above?

Just picked mine up this week. This ball does still have some hooking power due to the coverstock. I was actually surprised how much it did have on our fresh house shot.

Moved around, played some different lines with it. I ended up moving way right, and it fed to the pocket. The carry is amazing for a pancake block. When I played the line I'd normally play with my BW Solid, it was hit and miss, and accuracy was a premium.

Great ball in the Hammer line. You throw a bad shot, and you won't have the "recovery" area like a ball with a bigger core. But it's apples and oranges there though.

Had one drill last night. I rarely put up reviews, but you can look at it to get the details. All I can say is WOW !

yes this ball over 2 piece plastic...their is no comparison with carry..the rayzr carries most everything..doesnt hit like 3 piece at all...i was expecting to lose some carry with mine but havent seen much difference in carry with it..it is a great piece for med to dry...the best i have seen in a long time..again i cant get over the carry with this ball..i only have 3 games on mine but shot 734 with it last thursday..i would recommend picking up a rayzr if you need a dry lane ball that without sacrificing carry...

I am reading all these great, glowing reports on this ball. No one yet has explained how they have this ball drilled, to make it so effective.

Drilled weak or strong? High pin or low pin for smoothness?

And were you really playing on dry?

All Rayzr's I've seen have a very short pin, like 1", and have pin in the palm area. My driller said he thinks they are all short pins so you can't go wrong on the drilling for it.

Well I made the mistake of joinging a 2nd shift league at Wallington Lanes in NJ (wanted to bowl with my friend and he can only bowl 2nd shift). Anyway, bowled two weeks so far and the lanes are DRY. no visible indication of oil. ANy ball I tried goes 30 ~ 35 ft and left turn.

Ordered the Rayzr and will try next Tuesday. Hopefully this ball will live up to it's hype.

I may be joining you. I bowl at Ball Park lanes (near Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY) and the lanes were bone dry. I'm not used to standing next to the ball return. So I think I'll be ordering one. I want to talk to my driller first.
