TOXIC...
« on: November 22, 2006, 12:21:29 PM »
So just to be clear before I buy one, IS IT OR IS IT NOT PARTICLE? The decriptions say it's pearl reactive, but every other thing I read on this site has people saying it's pearl particle... Which is it? I really have no need for a pearl particle with my Total Inferno being so strong, so reactive would be the ticket for me, and I would'nt be too happy if I bought it and it was in fact particle...
Thanks

I emailed Brian Graham with Hammer last week and he told me NO particles in this ball.. I have never had Brian quote me the wrong information so I believe the ball is Reactive Pearl and thats also what the box says as well as I have 2 of them sitting at home..

Just because it doesn't have particles in it, doesn't mean it doesn't have a "additive" in it.

This little additive/particle game seems to have started with Columbia with some of their coverstocks.

I guess if the additive being added to the ball doesn't give it classic particle coverstock characteristics, why label the additive as a particle if you feel it's going to mislead the public about the balls intended purpose.

Just my $0.02

It is listed as having a pearl additive in it.. Nothing I have read or been told said it was a particle pearl additive. Once again, the box clearly states reactive pearl so thats what I believe that it is..

I also see no reason why Hammer would mislead anyone on the coverstock of this ball.. If it was a particle pearl, I am sure thats how it would be marketed..

yea, the pearl is actually an additive, something extra that needs to be added to the mix to get the actual pearlized look and reaction, could that possibly be the "additive" they speak of?

again "the new TRACTION pearl"keeps me thinking that this ball has some kind of particle in it.pearl makes the ball skid more/store more energy right?so what's with the traction part in the descrip?

I drilled a Toxic on Monday,  Rev Leverage,  Pin and CG 3 3/8 from PAP ( 5 1/8 > x 1/8^) Mid line of the grip is equidistant from the pin to CG  Weight hole  on a line from the Center of grip through the CG  Just below the VAL.

Took it out on lanes the had 3 shifts of league and some open play  I had to stand on Lane 18 to throw the ball 6th arrow on 19  with some speed to keep the ball from over hooking.

Then bowled on the fresh THS  was able to play up 12 with no problem.

Bowled after the first shift league tonight.  I was able to start out 2 boards deeper with the feet with no problem.  Then midway into the 2nd game  the ball started checking up early and over hooking.  Moved a couple boards further left with the feet and eyes and took some hand out of the ball and it worked just fine.  The ball DEFINITELY reacts in the dry.

I used the Toxic during 2 leagues on Tuesday night

I shot 245, 235, 208 = 688 for the first shift. and 210, 214, 194 = 618 for the 2nd shift.

When I drilled the ball, I  made some changes to my thumb pitch I started hanging up as the night went on and was struggling to get out of the ball. I definitely like the roll of the ball
