Need help picking my next Hammer
« on: November 29, 2007, 11:14:13 AM »
I finally gave in and went down to 14 lbs. I bought a BWP and i now need some suggestions on what ball to get to compliment the Pearl. I do plan on getting the BWS later but I need something thats a little weaker. I was thinking about the BV or Doom to give me a nice arching type motion or maybe the Toxic or CV to give me more length with a nice pop on the back end. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would go with the Blue Vibe drilled pin below your ring finger (puts pin around 4 1/2 with the cg kicked right just far enough to put a small weight hole.  This will give the ball an early read and smoother backend reaction.  I would not usually recommend complemeting a pearl with another pearl, especially with such a small arsenal to start.  Go with one solid and one pearl and then fill in the gaps.

You COULD use a CV but it would have to be a weaker drill or with added polish. Out of the box, they are both real strong.

I did not like the Blue Vibe. It's too early.

Not sure how one can have the Black Widow Solid and not like the Blue Vibe claiming that it was too early.  How was the BV drilled as the BW is more overall ball?  The BV is still the better choice here.

To clarify: I think he wanted something below the BWP. Generally people who are looking for something weaker want more length. The BV does not have a lot of length. The BWS is a great ball, and yep, it will be stronger and earlier, butg that's not what he seeks right now.

The Blue Vibe is an excellent choice if you want smooth arcing motion. If you put the pin above your fingers and give it some finger weight it will help it with some length but still be arcing in motion.

PJ, how exactly do you remove the pearl from a BWP considering its part of the entire cover ???

My bad... yes, the polish! Didn't realize that I placed that in my profile. It's been a long week.
