blue backlash

I am looking for some feedback on the blue backlash.  Around town most places seem to hook more for me because of my lack of speed.  I am lookinf for feedback from people who have drilled these with longer pin to pap placements and some who may have put a little surface on the ball to even its reaction.

I have one drilled pin up, pin down, tried surface changes etc. Not impressed with it. I get a much better roll out of my old teal rhino pro.

Also have the red. Much better ball imo.

SAVE YOUR MONEY. Get a Track 300c. Same money, much better ball.

VBP - The Blue/Silver Backlash hooks a little more than the Red/Purple due to the surface being at 4000 abralon & with a little stronger cover than the Red/Purple.

I find that the Blue/Silver works well with a little head oil and if you need something to read the middle part of the lane more with a smooth transition at the backends. The Red/Purple would be better suited if you need more length with a little more flip in the backends.

Well gang... I threw these beauties tonight on the late shift at South Point where the lanes have been hooking quite a bit these days. All I can say about these balls are AWESOME!! (231, 237, 224, 265)

Thank you Mr. Ussery & Hammer for releasing these balls. This is the movement that I have been looking for a long time since being with Hammer - length with control off the breakpoint.

I used the Blue/Silver most of the night as it read the pattern much better (smoother in the backends), but I did use the Red/Black ball for 1 game & shot 231 with it - leaving 3 flat ten pins. I think the Red/Black ball will be better for the drier/lighter conditions. The thing that I loved about these balls is that the didn't jump off the breakpoint as my Onyx Vibe does a little bit at times. I use my Onyx Vibe (pin down - similar to the blue/silver layout) during this late league and these balls were about 8 boards weaker and much smoother off the breakpoint.

I feel that these balls will be used in my bags A LOT as I love the smooth motion off the break on THS & the lighter Sport/PBA patterns. These will be great selling balls as the shelf appeal will be a hit. About 10-12 bowlers in the league came down & asked about these balls when I was throwing them tonight. Already pre-sold 6 balls tonight!!

One of the best balls for high friction ever made.

I have the benefit of having the same specs in terms of span as a columbia and hammer staffer so I get to try pretty much everything they come out with and in league I can go to their equipment if I need to.

The last couple weeks the Blue Backlash has been my go to ball on a second shift late league on wood lanes. The ball is the definition of control even on the most fried of patterns. If you are stuck bowling in a center with a ton of friction, put a long pin layout on one of these and just enjoy the results.

I've been a bit of Track whore as late, but I haven't tried the 300C but have heard great things. A friend of mine shot 825 with his 300C two weeks ago, so I'm pretty sure the ball has to be quality considering the rest of the Track line.

Agreed Mr.Perfect.... I think that the Backlash is a little stronger overall than the 300C, but I don't think you can go wrong with either product for the fried lane conditions that you are looking for VBP.

I drilled my Blue/Silver 60x4x60 which puts the pin at the edge of my ring finger.

This ball is very predictable and very smooth although it can be fairly strong if the lanes are drier than you think.

The ball is not very jumpy but it will come of the spot strong, not snappy, just strong.

The hit and carry of this ball is a lot better than I was expecting for such a core design.

I also have the blue Backlash with a pin up drilling. I use to use my Clash all the time for leagues but we recently changed our oil pattern a little and the Clash and Hyroad don't finish as well, while the backlash finishes amazing without changing my swing at all.

I get a much stronger backend(not snappy though) with the Backlash than I do with my Clash, and Hyroad. (all OOB surfaces)

I always clean everything after a couple sets, and resurface them pretty often for the amount I bowl. It could be cause of the drilling I have in the Hyroad but for me the Hyroad rolls heavier but is not as strong on the backend as my Backlash.

I also seem to have better success with the lower level equipment (clash, backlash, tornado)and can get them to do more and be more controllable than any of my higher priced ones.

The Blue/Silver Backlash is the best dry lane ball I have ever thrown. No matter how dry the lanes are, it never gets snappy, always smooth as butter. Mine is drilled 5" pin to PAP, pin under. Love it.
