Hello all, whats the best way to bring my Doom back to original form? A couple of weeks ago I sanded it down to give my ball more reaction on the back ends. I have recently improved my release making the ball roll smoother off my release rather than a drop in the beginning. In turn, it gives me more revs to work with coz they arent being wasted from hittin the ground on the drop. But, with the lower grit coverstock, its really burning up in the heads and losing power making my ball hit like a pancake. So i wanna return it back to its original 1000grit pearlized form.
So what can I do to do this? I noticed there are polishes out there that bring balls up to 1000 grit, but is this enough? Should I sand it back up to 1000 then polish it? Whats the best way to bring it back to original form?

I'd suggest you PM chitown. I don't think anyone has done more to a Doom than him. You could take it back to 1000 and take a touch of polish, but he's the best to ask that, IMO.

If you don't have a spinner, I'd suggest taking it to the shop and telling them what you want. Just make sure they use the Ebonite Factory Finish polish.

So i guess from a lil searching the best way to do it is to Abralon sand it back up to 1000 and optimally use use Ebonite Factory Finish since Hammer and Ebonite are the same overall company.

He's correct you need to use a ball spinner with factory finish polish.
You can use abralon pads or scotch brite to bring it up to 1000 grit. I use scotch brite. I dull it down or up in steps with a ball spinner.
For those of you that don't have a ball spinner just bring it to the pro shop and have them do what you want. Don't be afraid to ask the pro shop guy to dull it to 1000 grit before adding the factory finish polish. It's wise to bring your own bottle of Ebonites factory finish polish because some pro shops don't carry it and if your going to bring the ball back to OOB finish you need that polish.
