Cherry Vibe
« on: January 30, 2009, 04:18:16 AM »
I bowl the 2nd league on Friday nights at a Brunswick center. I have two bowling balls that I use a Total NV and a Resurgence.  I typically like to play somewhere between the 3rd and 2nd arrow out to 5. By the 2nd game I have to start moving left and by the 3rd I'm way left.

My ball speed varies between 14 - 14.5. Based on "BR.com's unofficial FAQ Section" and where my track location is, I would consider myself a semi-roller. I do not know what my rev-rate is.

I'm really looking for a ball that I can use when the lanes start breaking down like this but still play the track area.

Is the Cherry Vibe a good ball to use for this condition? What other balls might you suggest that I consider?

The Cherry vibe is still a very strong ball. You may actually find yourself liking something like a Avalanche Pearl. I am not sure that hammer has anything comparable to it.

I bowl 2nd league too, and my Cherry Vibe is the go-to ball for these lane conditions.

I am medium speed/revs stroker, like to play up the 10 board with my shot (not comfortable playing an inside line).  The Cherry Vibe hits the pocket if I lay it down anywhere between the 2nd and 3rd arrows.

You can see my arsenal in my signature below for an idea of what I'm comparing it to.  I highly recommend this ball!

Might want to post a profile with ball speed, rev rate, how you track, etc. etc. and you will get alot more opinions on what might work for you. The Cherry Vibe is a very good ball and would fit nicely below your Resurgence and Total NV. If you looking to play a more direct line, try one of the Ebonite Bash's. Both are very underrated balls for playing the track area when the oil is going away.

It will definately fit nicely under those balls, although it is pretty darn strong for the price.  For what it's worth I don't think I have ever heard a bad thing about the ball

On another note... if you want to try a Vibe the Emerald is noticably longer than the Cherry with a bigger back end.  The only issue I have seen with it is that if the lanes are spotty or broken down it can get a little over/under.  the Cherry seems smoother to me and is what I normally pull out on these conditions.

I think the cherry Vibe would be a bit jumpy off the spot.

I would recomend the BLUE VIBE..It's gets down the lane and has a milder reaction on the back. As opposed to the cherry that goes crazy on the backend

urbanshaft, can this layout be drilled using a ball with the following specs:  3 1/4 oz. top weight and 2-3 inch pin ?
