Title: Chicago land bowlers (pot games)
Post by: chitown on June 17, 2006, 10:18:43 AM
For those of you in the Chicago land area that want to bowl some pot games Rich"duke harding" and myself are going to meet up at Elk Grove lanes on July 8th.  I need to talk with him about the time.  For those of you that are interested please respond to this post so we can kind of get a head count.

You can stop up and bowl, "non-pot" games, also. Just a general relaxed "get together".

Everyone welcome....Have a beer or two, and B.S.

I'll mark my calendar for this.  I'm in.  Pot game?  I'm not so sure.  Do I get my cap?

Stop trying to impress other people, people mostly care about what you're saying about them not you.

If you don't like Wrigley, you might as well leave the country and join the Taliban.

Just like Rich said; all are welcome.  If you don't want to shoot pot games that's ok.  Come out and bowl it will be a great time.

You'll probably average 200 at Elk Grove, so you won't need any cap.

Just don't bring your Uncle with.

July 8th at Elk Grove, i'm there...can I request a late morning/early afternoon time?  Basically anytime between 11 and 2 works for me, but i'm not picky, just throwing some times out there.

andrew,
That sounds like a good starting range.
I'm goign to check with Joel or Lee at Elk Grove and make sure lanes are available...I don't shoot there to often any more. I'm not sure if they have anything going on for that date.

Glad you can make it.

Well, Duke knows my Uncle.  Yes, he is pretty good, though he's not a pro or anything like that.  His name is Curt Ameisegger and I'll give you the links to his bowling resume.  He's the guy that got me in to the sport 3 years ago.

You can also see him on www.sportbowling.com.  I think he's ranked like 6th or something in Sport average right now.

Yeah, I'm familiar with Curt, seems like a great guy, heckuva bowler.  Never really gotten the chance to talk to him too much, but seems like a real stand-up guy to me.

He's bowling in senior regionals now, and made at least two finals.  I think he may have won one, but I'm not sure.  I know he threw his first PBA 300 a couple months back, though.

This sounds like something I'd like to do.  Keep us posted on times when this will be happening, and I'll try to get over there to meet all of you.  I don't know how I feel about donating to the pot games, however - lol!

Hey guys if you don't want to do the pot games that's O.K., show up and bowl with us anyways.  It would be cool to meet all of you.

hmmmmm......

Very interesting.

I've got tickets for that weekend's NASCAR activities at Chicagoland Speedway.  If this can be worked out around the Busch race on Saturday, I'll give it a try!

Yes, Andy, I have heard all of the Elk Groove lore, but I have yet to experience it first hand.  I guess I'll find out on July 8.

A couple years ago, my good friend and Friday night teammate shot his first 300 there . . . followed by his second 300, ending up with 855.

I stopped at Elk Grove Bowl today, and talked to them.
They have open bowling from 12 til 2, then Cosmic Bowling from 2-4 (if anyone shows up for Cosmic). If we have another bowlers Mike Alberti said they'd open at 11 am.

Let's take a headcount and see approx. how many bowlers can make it at 11 am?
We could also bowl after the Cosmic...

Here is the address and phone number of the center:

ELK GROVE BOWL
53 S. Arlington Hts. Rd.
Elk Grove Village, IL 60007

Phone: 847-437-3393

I'll be in at 11 if we can get it then, that won't be a problem, it's not too far away for me.

Other bowlers maybe not from the area, it's REALLY easy to get to, but it is in a strip mall of sorts.  The alley is a stand alone, but it can be kind of deceiving depending on where you're coming from.

Also, donnydeutch, you tell Cole to come get some, and you make SURE to tell him Loose said so, he knows who I am...

I can make it at 11 if it works out.

I won't be calling out Cole - he's a good guy, but way out of my league.  Wait a minute - he is in my league - my Monday league - never mind.

I'll actually be bowling Mondays at Hawthorne this year, problem is i'll only be splitting the league, i'll be bowling first half of the season, and getting married during the second half!  Just thought I'd let you know that I'LL be in your league next year too

Congrats on the upcoming nuptuals.
