The original black widow was my most favorite ball of all time. It has died years ago and I still haven't found a ball that has had the same reaction. I am a lower rev, lower speed player that has trouble carring from deep angles. The black widow was the perfect balance of skid backend and roll for me. The black widow pearl went too long with a too unpredictable snap.
I currently have a 505T and a 300C. When the lanes break down with the 505T, I don't carry very good inside, and the 300C is still too long. I would look to any brand. Thanks for your help.

Taboo Jet Black. Uses the same core with the stronger cover of the taboo.

With Righty on this one, but knock off the polish if you don't want it going too far.

I would look into the 900 Global Black Eagle:
See the following video comparing the Break s70 and the Black Widow:

The Black Eagle is a remake of the original Break s70.
You can also pick it up for a pretty good price....much lower than a Taboo Jet Black:

You may want to also look into the Cobalt Vibe. It uses the same cover as the Black Widow. A slightly stronger layout than what you had on your Widow and you could be golden.
Another possibility would be the Ransom Demand if you can find one. Ball roll is pretty similar but the Demand has more continuation on the backend of the lane.

I agree with the Taboo Jet Black. Maybe at 2000 grit with a light coat of polish.

Um, nope. The Colbalt is the BW PEARL cover.
I agree with the above though that the Jet Black is the closest thing to an original Widow. The versatility is unmatched. The Jet is fabulous.

How about a NIB 15 # original Black Widow?

Or a NIB 16? ;)

Not in my backyard... so to speak. There are very few bowlers in the area still using 16# equipment. It's been years since 16# equipment was kept in stock by the main shop here.

Go with the Jet Black its move is smooth like the Black Widow and just as versatile on the transition

Would the Taboo Jet Black be the ball to go under the Taboo DP?

Yes. If have the Deep Purple and want the same look with a smoother finish then yes. And reiterate my point to the OP Jet Black is about as close to the original as you going to get. Same core, Original Taboo cover.
