They don't really have a true benchmark ball. I personally find that a benchmark ball is something that handles medium oil and has a smoother reaction. Thus, it is subjective based on revs, ball speed, tilt, one's pap, etc. You could call the blue vibe a benchmark ball if you have slower ball speed, and a higher rev rate. The widow could be a benchmark ball if you have the opposite. The doom is the closest as far as oil handleing capability for most, but I find it a bit too skid snappy to fit the bill for what I would want (sorry chitown
).
My benchmark ball is now the overtime, taken to a higher finish (box + rough buff, then hit lightly with a grey pad).
