Diesels
« on: August 08, 2007, 01:30:54 PM »
Anyone still use their Diesels? I've been having alot of success recently with my Big Rig and Particle Diesels. Both balls handle heavy oil well and both still hit a ton, even after many games. Gotta love that early revving original Diesel core! Swear I get 5+ inches of flare with my Diesel Particle and I'm no cranker. Also had a Big Block, Power, and the original Particle Pearl versions as well. They were all good balls, but I didn't have as much confidence in them as I do the Big Rig and Particle. Only one I never picked up was the Diesel Reactive Pearl, although everyone I talked with that ever used it said it was a very good ball as well. Just curious if any Hammerheads out there still use their Diesels. Anyone have a Reactive Pearl they don't use anymore? Might have room for just one more...

Hey Spike,
The Reactive Pearl is a really good ball.  There was a NIB one on Ebay not too long ago...might still be there.
Mine is drilled pin right of ring, cg in palm.  Super strong arc for a pearl ball...sometimes a bit squirty off the dry.  But very vesatile nonetheless...
I am going to resurface mine and play around with the grits a bit to see where I like it the best.  Mine is still OOB which I am unsure whether was 4000 or 1000.  I am going to go 1000 polished first to see what it does.
Looking for any 14lb Hammers, particularly older oddball stuff.
So if you have a 14lb Faball or Diesel or Vicious or Blade or Hawg laying around shoot me a PM

Since the downshift to 15 lbs., I've only used them occassionally. I like them and have had good success with my Big Block and Particle Pearl.

I'm using a 16lb Diesel Pearl Reactive.

I got this ball a while ago (2-3 years, cannot remember). Got a different drilling on it than my other equipment. This was the first ball I got drilled to go long. I went to a tournament and bowled terrible (not the balls problem) with it and my other equipment. Put the ball away and forgot about it.

Last November was not bowling well (my fault not equipment). I found this ball when I was doing some cleaning. Changed to this ball and raised my average from 181 to 197. I fixed my problems, but the ball did make a difference.

I just love the reaction of this ball.

I'm about to resurface and hot bath my Diesel Pearl Reactive. I'm thinking about 1000 abralon with some Beans Sauce polish.

Also, going to get some new equipment. I'm going to get a Cherry Vibe and a Blue Vibe drilled exactly the same.

I'm having a hard time choosing the second ball. I either want a BWPearl or an Anger. I'm leaning toward the BWP because I loved my Pearl Diesel.

Bigsexyhammer, let me know how yours comes out. Looking to work on mine in next 2 weeks.

I've sometimes been using my used Diesel Particle (16lb) with pretty good luck.  A VERY fun ball to throw.  Revs up fast and really flares, WAY more so than any of my other equipment.  I also have a NIB 15lb Diesel Particle that I was pretty excited about getting drilled for this season, when our mixed doubles partners for the last seven years called a couple of nights ago and said they were going to be bowling with their relatives instead!!  Thanks a lot!!!  Ok, rant off.  I'll still get it drilled (stacked leverage) and hope to find another couple to bowl with so I can use it to kick their butts!!

Here's that one on E-gouge.  Two hours left.  I would love to have a fresh one.

Well my diesel pick up truck....

Oh wrong Diesel, lol. I had a Pearl Reactive Diesel a while back that was second hand. It had a nice transition and good hit. It was a good ball but it cracked on me when it got left in the bowling alley and the a/c went out. I will agree if I could find a new one it would be nice.

Glad to hear some of you still use your Diesels. Wish I could justify one more...

I got mine used, single drill, seemingly low games judging the coverstock for 30 bucks shipped.  I am kind of a fan of using the older stuff.

You throw a decent game 260+ or something with it, and people are like...hey what ball is that, and you tell them, and they look at you blankly and say...

Jim,

Saw the ball went for $54 I think. Didn't check on shipping prices. Yeah, I can think of a couple other words for that much shipping!
