I'm not familiar with either of these balls or test balls in general, but the pictures didn't show a "USBC Approved" engraving, so I'm fairly sure you can't use them in sanctioned competition. If you want them for open bowling or as collectors items, go for it. -- JohnP

Don't know about the first ball, but the claw is from the old Faball days, before the ebonite buyout. I'm betting that the blue ball is actually made by Faball as well... Maybe a blue reactive asymmetric ball.

Train a child up in the way they should go and when they are old they will do some "Damn Good Bowling", be a "DV8" and not turn from it, besides bowling starts with a Big B!

Thank you everyone. Glad I found this site. Always quick answers

Actually John, balls are not required to have a USBC stamp engraved to be legal to use.
This only started a few years back, and all balls before that are still legal. It would need to be on the approved list of course, but doesnt require the stamp on the ball.

The Ice Claw was approved by ABC/USBC in November 2001. I would simply contact Hammer and check to see if either of the balls are legal. I am willing to bet the Ice Claw is legal, just not sure about the other one. The serial number should identify which ball it is, but without the ball name ON THE BALL, it may be eliminate from being legal.
I am not a pro-bowler, but I do play one on BallReviews.com

The Claw is legal and on the USBC Approved Ball List, the Test Ball is simply a test ball as stated in the description, not legal for use in competition..which is why it is a considered a collectors item
