No Mercy vs Black Widow Vid @ Buddies
« on: October 23, 2006, 08:51:19 AM »
Hey all, for all of you who have wanted to see a comparison between the two, buddies has one in thier No Mercy video.  It was surprising to see that the NM seemed to go a tad longer than the BW (could just be me), though it is definitely more arcy.  Watch it here:

The simplest solution I have found it to light polish the BW and it creates a bigger range of difference.  In the video they are very close and I think it is to close to split hairs over.  Polish it up

great video best i have seen the no mercy is definatly stronger and the no mercy was drilled quite a bit weaker than the widow and still covered more boards and continued threw the pocket stronger

It would if the bowler had higher revs.  That is the layout designed for lower rev bowlers right?   So it's going to flare a lot early.  So I would say it depends on the bowlers style.

First off that video is great thanks Buddies for it.
I guess I shouldn't have been surprised they both tracked so similar as they are supposed to both go long and hook hard.  I was hoping they both would have more of a Skid/flip reaction than such a smooth arch that they exhibited especially the NM as it does have more on paper.
I also wonder what the next ball based on the HART core will do as they always seem to step it up on the subsequent ball's in a line, and the BW seems to be the latest incarnation of the Big Blue line.

Well I not sure that more of a skid snap would be good?  I mean it seems both balls have a good strong reaction.  I guess it's personal preference.  I don't care to much about how fast the ball changes direction.  I'm more concerned how it reacts to dry.  I want the ball to work well on difficult patterns.

I'm picking my NO MERCY up on Monday.  It may take me a few months to see how it performs on a couple of difficult patterns.

Now if your looking for more skid snap i'm sure you could get that from polishing the ball.

if you play on a wet/dry the widow will snap hard but I like to keep it in the oil, then the ball is smooth and the carry is great.
