come on guys a few suggestions would be great
one suggestion was 5 and a half pin from pap and mb 1 and a half right of thumb

the black widow is an awesome ball when you have a fair amount of oil but is absolutely horrific when the lanes dry up.it's also one of those balls where the less you give it the more it hooks, typical hook in a box ball.it is very clean up front with alot of mid lane roll and backend with some carrydown and great for longer patterns.for these reasons I would give it a 4x4 drill and use it for the proper condition.if you're looking for a skid snap reaction I would wait on the black widow pearl as I am.on the other hand it may be great polished,I don't know as my bw is at 4000grt.maybe someone else will chime in.so far this is my favorite solid reactive ball to date.

how aggresive should i expect compare it to my one that is drilled pin under bridge and mb just right of my thump
-
pin under middle finger kicked cg out witht he MB all in a line at a 45 degree angle. Thats how i have mine it goes long i am also a high rev playa with about 500 rpm and throw it on average 18. I luv it i dont kno bout carry down to much it it will do what you want i think.
-
I have trouble getting lenght out of a ball that is why i was thinking pin above fingers and i also wanted a diff look than my one
-
ok try another good layout of mine. pin over middle finger cg kicked just little with MB out still. never had this layout on a a-symetrical ball though. had it on a rebound.
-
mine is pin about even with ring finger and mb 2" right of thumb,no wt. hole and it is very strong.for some reason I have a hard time adjusting with aysemytrical(sp?)cores.they only seem to work good for a specific line and thats it.probably because the core is too strong to manipulate.

how far mb kicked out???
-
one of my favorite drills is pin above middle finger,mb right of thumb.holds energy really well.

how far right of thumb for the mb
-
i am looking for a long sharp reaction am i on the wrong ball??
-
I think so...but I would'nt pass on the widow.a shorter pin to pap on the black widow is not stupid.it's a very clean ball in the heads with a ton of midlane and back end on med-heavy oil.I find it hard to fight strong covers through the heads except on a floods but on longer med- heavy patterns the bw is gold.

so the bw will give me a skid snap reaction drilled 5 1/2 pin fron pap 4 inch pin is what i got comming pin over fingers mb about 1 1/2 inches right of my thumb will that give me the lenght and the booming backend that i am looking for???

I have my 2nd BW drilled for somewhat of a skid/snap reaction. Its drilled 5x2 with the factory surface of 4000 and I added a good coat of Track Magic Shine. It goes pretty long and has a sharp move to the pocket. I would not say a snap, but a really strong move. I have a pic of it in my profile. It is the BW #2

best drilling for the widow i have done so far and i have had 3..
60 degree layout, 5 1/2 inches from pap... its dead money.. very snappy layout, for me the pin wound up pin above the middle finger with the mb directly next to the thumb on the right...
it is an awesome layout, but really with the pin anywhere above the fingers for someone with a higher rev rate, it will roll great

Its hard to guess without knowing a little more info..PAP, axis tilt and axis rotation... Assuming you are a medium high tracker (PAP about 5" over and a little up or down) and neither extreme in axis rotation (up the back or around the side), placing the pin well above the midline (3"to 4"), will help gain extra length. For most spans, this leaves the pin above the fingers some where.. Based upon your rev rate, on heavier oil, I would go with a 4.5" to 5" pin to PAP distance... medium oil a 5" to 6" pin to PAP distance. To get a strong break point, place the mass bias somewhere around 4.5" to 5" from PAP.

I'm a great quitter. It's one of the few things I do well. I come from a long line of quitters. My father was a quitter, my grandfather was a quitter... I was raised to give up.
