The Razyr still moves alot for me with the pancake/core combo it has, especially off of the dry boards. I was thinking about taking 4000 or even 2000 abaralon and knocking the shine off the ball, to maybe move right and play a little straighter, and smooth out the reaction.
Anyone dulled their Razyr yet?

The Rayzr does not have a core. Only a top weight spot to compensate for drilling. I wish Hammer would make another ball like this but with a little bit more aggressive cover. Take the shine off. It's got to make the ball smoother for you.

So many questions, so little time but I'm having fun.

Yeah I know it's just a pancake block, just didn't word it right lmao. I thought about it after I reread it.

Taking the shine off the Razyr will definitely smooth out the backend reaction. Try it at 4000 abralon no polish first. I've tried it and it makes the ball much more controllable off the end of the pattern.

I use my Rayzr as a spare ball also. Will taking the shine off help it go straighter?

Yes, it will help to smooth out the ball reaction.

I took my Razyr down to 1000, and put polish on it. The lanes started dry, Storm Dimension was too much ball, I was too deep to start. I tried the Razyr, stepped 8 boards right and got the reaction I was looking. I had from 15 out, ball still recovered when I sent it. I will try again next to see if it was a one hit wonder. One thing for sure: I didnt love it at 4000 with polish.

I have one dulled at 2000 and love it.

Up the boards baby!

I was thinking about trying something with mine. Went to practice last night with it. Lanes were dry. Was standing in front of the ball return, lofting it to the arrows at about 20 or 25 out to about 5 or 10 at the breakpoint and it would crush the pocket.

crush, i would try it at 4000 no polish first, you dont like the sharp backend. i liked it, but i just felt like experimenting, took it to 1000 and added polish, and it may be a game 3 ball

I like the sharp backend. It just surprised me with how strong it was last night.

This ball was very hard for me to keep on my side of the lane even on medium patterns, I hit it with a medium strength polish and it reacts better and gets more length than before. I wish hammer would make a ball like this with more options for drillings.

Just to check in: I tried the Razyr for a second time at 1000 with a light polish. I was very satisfied. After being impressed @ 1000 with a light polish a few weeks back, I decided to put a liberal dose of polish on it (on top of my original light polish. It wasnt the same, too snappy, over/under, and disappointing (kind of like it was at 2000 with polish, 4000, and OOB). So back to 1000 with a light polish, and the ball is effective as a "dry lane ball"
