Title: emerald vibe
Post by: mmcfarland300 on May 15, 2008, 07:24:55 AM
Anyone know where this will fall in the vibe series.  STronger/weaker than the cherry?

dont know for sure but my guess would be that it would be replacing the blue vibe so mabe little weaker and hopefully smoother than cherry.

I love when a newbie starts talking about a ball no one has ever heard of before and asking how it compares to every other ball on the planet and what it's good for, etc., etc., etc.,

Sigh  .....

WON'T YOU PLEASE WAIT UNTIL WE HAVE AT LEAST SOME DESIGN INFORMATION ON THE FREAKING BALL UNTIL YOU POST SUCH DRIVEL OR AT LEAST POST A WEBSITE THAT CONTAINS INFORMATION ON THE BALL, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE????

Excuse me for being interested in new products.  I am not sure why some people feel the need to be absolute diXs.  It was a simple question.  It is people like you that drive decent forum posters away.  I may be new to this site but what right does that give you to question my post.  I just wanted to know if any hammer insiders had specs on it yet.  Posts like that show your true colors.

Disregard all them, mmc.  They think they run this site.  You asked a legit question, just wanted to know if anyone knew where the emerald will land in the vibe series.  It's OK when they have questions about a ball, but not you, lol.  Jeremy H is very informative in this thread, so he won't shout you down like others on here.  Good Luck.

He did NOT ask a legitimate question. He asked a question about a ball that does not exist yet.

as I said before, if you do that, at least HAVE THE COURTESY to point to or give information about that ball and we can all make our best guess. Unless you do that, you become an object of frustration and potential ridicule.

IT HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR NEWNESS. If you had been here for 5 years, we would have done the same thing, because the question you asked had no rhyme or reason. There was no way on heaven and earth ANYONE could answer it coherently. But if you had been here a long time, you would havelaughed it off afetr reading our replies because you would have realized what you did and not replied, with a chip on your shoulder, as you have.

Don't think we would have liked to have given you a decent answer. That is the reason for the existence of this website. Check the last 400 or 2000 replies I have given. I am here to leanr and to help. get that chip off your shoulder. Become part of the team here.

bluerrpilot,

sorry for the confusion the comment was not directed to you.  As for the specs on the ball I figured people on the hammer forum would know how to find the specs considering I did.

According to Jeff Ussery (via the Hammer forum) it's supposed to "go longer with more backend pop than the Cherry Vibe".

I was hoping it would be smoother, but I guess I'll have to stick with my Bash.

The Emerald replaces the Purple. It's the same ball with a new cover color. Max Flip was used on the Purple, too.

The Psycho is using a mod'ed Real Deal "Assault" core and the same cover as the Anger.

The Psycho looks really promising. Saying that the cover is the same as the one on the Anger is true...sort of. The Psycho is a pearl, the Anger a solid. They should make a great 1-2 punch though! Can't wait for all the new stuff.

I'd like to know why they retreaded the Purple as the Green? I guess they really wanted a true skid-flipper back in the line up?

WAIT it is not a new ball!!!!

It is just a color change regarding the VIBE.  The Raw is just a retread with a color change.

How about something NEW??????

The Raw is a newer cover in pearl formula with an older core.

Sherm, it's a purple retread. Doom and Purple Vibe were both Max Flip.

also i just looked... the differential is a bit higher on the Emerald (.042) than the Purple Vibe (.039) ... hmmmmm.... I'm not sure as to why though...

also, it is quite possible the cover might be the enhanced max flip that was on the Doom, and its just being advertised that way... who knows... hopefully it will be a different reaction than the purple vibe

I'm still curious why Hammer doesn't come out with a solid vibe for heavy oil.  The Blue Vibe works good for that but it's being discontinued.

Nothing special going on at buddies, Steve Cooks will have them monday so west coast guys should be good to go soon.

they are technically not allowed to release them until the world wide release though...

ya and i would assume that since buddies sells so many, they will get the new stuff early to create more hype

like Jeremy said  hopefully we get ours soon because I am totally psyched for the new stuff!

Because Buddiesproshop is the largest customer of there local supplier, they were doing over 3 million dollars a few years ago. How many pro shops do over 3 million???

The answer is them and yes they did get from a distributor, I called Chad today to see if they were really in stock. I then called my local shop and he called Steve Cook's another distributor and was told the shipment is due in by the end of the week and will be there computer on monday.

Ebonite and it's companies never sell direct cutting out it's distributor's, i have had conversation's with Ed Gallagher about this.

hello

just to clear things up here. we do have the balls at the shop as they came directly from a distributor. we've had the balls since friday. also, for all staffers, chad is also on hammer staff and did not receive a ball as of yet so he drilled one out of inventory so we could get a comparison of all the vibes and make a video.

It's not that big of a deal folks.  When we used to do the ball reviews column we would have balls 1-2 months before they even showed up on the net sometimes even before that.  What's the point of having it right now if it isn't cleared anyway?

Am I correct that the Psycho uses the asymmetrical core from The Deal? This one had a low mass bias, correctly?
