Blue or Cherry Vibe?
« on: August 07, 2007, 02:39:03 AM »
Looking for something to throw in the later games during league. My problem is usually stuff hooking too early w/ the burnt out heads, which sways me toward the cherry, however, i've read that it hooks considerably more than the blue (maybe too much for a burning-burnt out shot) and that sways me toward the blue. if you've got experience w/ either or both of these things on a touch of burnt heads, a touch of carry down, let me know about your experiences...

thanks in advance,
Matt

I would suggest the cherry vibe. Skid farther down than the Blue Vibe.

The Cherry will go farther than the Blue. But its tuff to get either ball down the lane through burnt heads unless you have good speed.

I wouldn't worry about the Cherry Vibe being too strong.

I was also concerned about the CV being too strong.  For me it hasn't been strong.  It gets great length on any dried up shot and allows me to really wind up on the ball without worrying about it being too overreactive.

It's a weaker drilling.  5 1/2 pin to pap.  Which basically puts the pin about the bridge of my fingers.

I put a "phantom MB" marker 6 3/4 down the pin to cg line and drilled a x-hole there 2inches right of my thumb.  The CG therefore is placed wherever that line is.

On the same broken down shot compared to my Toxic...I have to stand 2-3 left when using the Toxic and take some hand out of it.  With the Vibe, I can move back right, really put some hand into the ball, and still get the same length and nice smooth reaction into pocket.

Unless I make a horrendous shot, this ball hasn't been too strong, hasn't overreacted, but has been everything I ever wanted from a dry lane ball.

It clears burnt up heads, isn't too affected by carry down (sometimes leaves a corner), and gets to the breakpoint consistently.  Other balls I have owned have had trouble with all the aforementioned things.

Problem with the Cherry Vibe is that it snaps way too friggin much... Creates a ton of over under.. pin up in middle of bridge and cg stacked.
Tried a Blue Vibe, and that was the trick for me.  Ball basically went almost as long and doesn't snap as hard.  Pin over Middle finger (towards the track) Cg, under my ring.
