Have at me!

If you aren't watching 'The Wire,' the government should be forced to come to your house and repossess your television. END OF STORY!

Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

BOB:  Did you see the way she was lookin' at me?
DOUG:  Yeah, because she thought you were some kind of freak!

Worked OK for me. Great balance, 4 step free armswing approach, I'm not a coach but I can see great fundamentals here. The one detail I could see is a little dropping of the ball at release.

Hey splendorlex!

To me, you seem pretty solid except that you may be releasing the ball a split second too early (behind your slide leg) which causes the baby bouncies.  It looks like you're uncupping your wrist a tad early which may be due to your wrist brace keeping your wrist straight.

Have you tried bowling without a wrist brace?  I'd say, try to make it so that you deliver the ball out onto the lane rather than letting it go behind you and letting inertia take its course.  You'll see a lot more power and drive from the ball.

Also, making sure your body stays low throughout the entire approach (it looks like you start to straighten out towards the last step) will help to deliver the ball cleanly on the lane.  I had the same problem (i have short arms) with staying low enough, but you kinda just have to force yourself.

Hope that helps!

Looks to me like you may be a little tentative when it comes to trusting your shots...might explain being a little off balance at the foul line. Instead of trying to place the ball, just let it go. The arm swing is loose and that is great. Just let that energy travel from your arm through to the ball.

After watching again, I did notice the lack of knee bend.  When you first start on your approach and you bend your knees, make sure you stay that way, meaning, always keep your knees bent.  Theres no use in starting low if you're not gonna end that way.

And I also notice a bit of hesitance as was mentioned before by another posting in this thread.  Don't be afraid of missing your mark.  As long as you follow all the way through your mark, you should hit it pretty consistently.

Most everybody says Ryan is dumping the ball and his thumb doesn't fit correctly and needs tape.....is this correct?  Or is Ryan out of time on the first two shots and has a faster gait to the foul line and dumps the ball because he is out of time?

Now watch the next three shots and watch Ryan slow down in mid approach and notice he doesn't dump the ball as much and is more in time.  Ryan may dump the ball partially because of his poor fit thumb but IMO he dumps it more because he is out of time.  Timing is the root of most all evil.

Dumping the ball can be corrected with a towel over the foul line.....he's on the right track.  Keep working with your coach Ryan.

I should add that I started recording this in league in the first game, and I wasn't nearly as warmed up for the first few as I was for the last few.  Heck, I should have waited until the third game to record when I started to really stroke it.    Thanks for all the advice, and there will be more to come now that I have the capability.  Too bad I'm using my new digital camera, I can only get so much video on it.
