get yourself a dull blue vibe!
« on: January 25, 2008, 02:33:11 AM »
Guys I have to tell you my DULL BLUE VIBE is just flat out awesome.  I'm still floored but how much this ball hooks on long heavier oil. I can use these two vibes on just about anything!  The best bang for the buck on the market today!

If any of you guys are looking for a ball to use on tough heavier longer patterns then grab yourself a BLUE VIBE and knock the polish off.  Bring the cover down to 1000 grit abralon with a spinner.  You will be shocked at how smooth but strong this ball is on heavier longer patterns.

These two Blue Vibes will be in my tourney bag for sure!

Seems to me that this might be a good answer to Nationals, with a relative stronge drill on a blue vibe with surface for the fresh shot and a weaker drill on a polished blue vibe for single / doubles 2nd squad.

Exactly!  This ball should be in every tourney bowlers bag.  In fact, it's wise to buy two of them and take the polish off one.  I have found that 1000 grit abralon is perfect for this ball.

I chose the use the same exact layout on both of mine.  There's a huge difference in the amount of oil this ball can handle while dulled to 1000 grit compared to box condition.

I agree. I also have my Blue Vibe at 1000 grit, and it is very strong on the oilier conditions. Interestingly enough, the ball is also the one that has to be cleaned the most after bowling because it seems to pick up and awful lot of oil and grime, more than any ball I have.

chi...i know wut you mean with the blue vibe dull being great and wut not for longer patterns...BUT to me it just doesnt compare to some of the higher end balls in carry wise, if i use the bws, or something of that nature on some heavy oil it def carries better than the vibes do. im not sure if it has to do with core or wut not, but to me it just seems that the blue vibe is perfect for house patterns and should be kept that way.

just my own 2 cents

Say I got a cherry vibe and a blue vibe.

drilled them the same, with the pin above the ring finger around 1 o'clock and had the blue vibe dulled.

would this be a good combo for someone who likes to throw it up the lane between the 1board and 2nd arrow?

Or should i get a raw anger for more oil?  keep in mind i like my balls drilled the same and let the cover do the work.

thanks!

My BV's seem to carry great.  The only time I notice a loss in the carry department is with the dull vibe when the shot dry's up.  That's when I know it's time to get into a lot more oil or just grab the BOX CONDITION vibe.

I do understand what your saying.  I may not agree with it but understand it.  There's another way to look at this dull vibe.  What it lacks, if any, in the carry department it totally makes up for it in the control department.  You will be hard pressed to find a more controllable ball on oil!  The BV is smooth to begin with but dulled takes it too another level!

Have you tried your Vibe dull?

I have the Anger and BV drilled exactly the same and with both balls at 1000 grit abralon.  The Anger is stronger in the mid-lane (not by much) and is a few boards stronger overall.

I would dull your Blue Vibe and see how it works.  I think a lot of bowlers won't believe that a BLUE VIBE can be used on heavy long patterns.  Well I will tall you that it works great on long heavier patterns.  I bowl with mine on some heavy long patterns every week.  This ball is money!
