I have a Doom as many know.  I also am picking up another one tomorrow.  I'm drilling the new the exact same as the Doom I have now.  The Doom I have now i'm going to dull it.  

This is the experiment I was talking about before.  Well I'm going to do it soon.  I want to see how much oil the dull Doom can handle compared to the Polished box surface one.  The Doom in box condition can handle med oil down to light oil. I want to see if a dull Doom can handle med/heavy.  I think it will.  

Now my question.  Since the Doom has abralon finish do I dull it down with abralon pads or can I just use scotchbrite?  Does it make a difference?  If I need to get abralon pads where can I buy them without having to order them?

I have a ball spinner.  I also have many scotch brite pads.  Green, grey and blue.  I just never used abralon pads and was wondering because that is what Hammer uses on all of it's covers.

I will just dull it with the scotch brite.  This is the experiment and I want to dull one of them not just take the shine off.

Personally, I use the A/Pads 90 percent of the time. That said, I've also used S/B pads on Ebonite balls and to be honest I could not tell a difference. I will say I like the A/Pads better, holds to my CAB and clean up is a snap, I also think they last longer if taken care of, JMO.
