Hammer Ball selection

Hey guys i have an old turbo diesel that is about to be on its last leg.  Looking for a good medium to medium heavy ball.  But i do not want the black widow tried it and was not for me.  I was considering the anger or no mercy just as a few, but will consider anything.  Looking for a ball to play more down the boards in the oil to a small swing.  Let me know what you suggest.

I'd look at a No Mercy Beat'n.  That's what I throw and I think it'd work good on the conditions you describe.

Pain or Anger. I have two Pains and that is what they are good for, going up the boards. I plan on getting an Anger for heavier stuff to go beneath my particle ball. Basically because I don't want to redrill either one of my pains. I don't find enough oil to use them in the house shot, but they are great for tournaments. Real even. Since you didn't like the Black widow, I won't suggest the No Mercy Beat'n. It would work but you would have to find the right drill for your game and maybe play with the cover. 2cents

I had to get mine polished up after the first time I've used it, but since that time, it's been working just fine.

My ? to you is do you want something that has more of an even-arcing reaction or do you want something that gets down the lane and flips on the backend?

i cant believe a black widow wont work for you.  that is the most versatile ball out today.

Since you didnt like the BW, asymmetrical cores might not match up for you. I would go with the anger instead of the NM. The cover on it is pretty strong though so if you want to play up the boards or swing it a little, dont drill it too strong. You could also look into a Doom and take the cover down a bit.

IMO if the BW didn't work for you at all, then I'd bet most high MB balls won't either. Or at the least it HAS to be drill for you perfect. Saying that, the best heavy/med oil ball would be the Anger.

I do think some folks see it as a "tamer" ball because it's in the Raw Line and not 'higher' in the line-ups, but remember, Hammer makes the line and not just a "performance" line as does Storm or some others.

The Anger is a strong ball, so talk to your driller and tell him/her what you want and expect or you won't be happy with it, either.

I agree with Roger on this one.  The Anger is a great ball for what your looking for.  You can alway polish the cover if it's too much for the condition.

I'd say try out a Anger and put a simple label layout on it.
