Hi everybody. I just started bowling again after a hiatus of seven years or so. I have a 15 lb Hammer Big Rig Diesel that although several years old, probably has only two full seasons of use on it (by two full seasons I mean league bowling once a week from September through May). The ball seems to still have some good action left in it, and I'd be happy to keep using it, at least for a while, except it has a big chunk taken out of it just above my ring finger hole where the pin is (was). I suppose I can fill it in with some epoxy and soldier on, or maybe get it baked and resurfaced while I'm at it, but I'm wondering if I should just bite the bullet and get something more state of the art. I hear Hammer is coming out with some new stuff in the next few weeks.
Anyway for my specs...
Male
Right handed
Average - Currently around 180 and working my way back up to 199.6 where it was when I stopped bowling for a while
Speed - ~14mph
Revs - no idea
Usual Line - Outside line. I throw it between first and second arrow and hope it gets to the pocket
The question is, what current offerings, Hammer or otherwise, would be a good replacement having similar characteristics to the Big Rig Diesel.
Thanks in advance.

I would suggest an Amp up. It has a stronger cover/core than the Big Rig, but it would be in the same category today as the Big Rig was back in its day. If you want to be a little more conservative reaction wise, you can look at the Arson line ( avoid the Low Flare versions as they will not have as much reaction potential). Hope this helps, and good luck

For your replacement ball for the Big Rig Diesel, I would recommend the following options:
Bad Ass (similar numbers & strong ball reaction in the backends)
Absolut Flip (goes longer than the Bad Ass & has a big backend motion too)
Black Widow Legend (The most versatile ball in the Hammer line & has a strong backend motion very similar to the Big Rig).
Hope this helps... Good Luck & let us know what direction you ended up going!
