Hey everyone.. I have a "customer" who is interested in a new ball. He is a true hammerhead... threw the blue urethane hammer for many, many years and recently purchased a black widow. We have been bowling on the PBA conditions during our summer league and he has found that his blue urethane isn't quite enough ball on the shorter patterns (at least to carry very well), but his black widow is WAY too strong for anything but the Shark and possibly the scorpion. He's looking for something thats a step up from the urethane, but covers less boards (especially on the backend) than his widow. Everything in the current lineup that's under the widow seems to be quite angular on the backend (Doom, Toxic, Vibes)... I was thinking maybe one of the recently discontinued pure hammers or possibly the big blues (if I were able to find one) might fit the bill.. any suggestions?
He has a higher rev rate (in the 450 range) and 16-17 mph speed. The widow is drilled with pin above fingers and mb directly above thumb (roughly a 5 X 5 layout) and the box surface was shined with ebonite extender polish... so I'm not sure a milder layout/surface on the widow would work for him...
Thanks,
S^2
