Scandal vs Dark Legend Solid

The Scandal is a beast, but on the site it says it's from medium to heavy oil.
On the Dark Legend Solid it says it's for heavy oil.
Does that mean that the Dark Legend Solid hooks even more than the Scandal?

Scandal is Hammer hook monster. Dark legend solid is great to but the scandal hooks more. Scandal you need it in heavy oil.

For me they both hook a great deal... what separates them is where the hook is.
The Scandal rolls earlier and is more continuous down the lane where the Dark Legend Solid hooks a little more down the lane if you need to open up your angles on the heavier medium / heavier patterns OR when playing a little deeper.

I'll stick with the Scandal.
I don't need a ball that hooks later. Would be nice to have a ball that hook like the Scandal.

The DV8 Grudge ball is nice, but hooks less than the Scandal.
The Jackal LE hook like the Grudge ball.

The Scandal is an later motion compared to the Dark Legend Solid. Shorter hook zone compared to the Scandal so youll use the Solid when/if the Scandal tends to roll out from deeper angles. From what I've seen, the Scandal is a very good backending motion from deeper in, so I don't really see the need for the Solid unless you want to start of with it then go to the Scandal.

If you want something stronger, look into the Original Paradox or the Maverick(if youre just wanting something new). I more of a fan of using what I know will strike so I'd go Paradox. That's not to say the Maverick isn't good, just I know of the success of the Paradox.

Paradox is a great choice, very strong ball from what I've seen and heard. I'm curious as to what turned you off of Storm and RG?

I might've ordered the Paradox from the PSO I go to now.

At today's bowling I got such bad pain in my thumb. Got this thing where I get this damn mark on it. I don't really grip the ball, at least not much if I do. But I shove the thumb as far as I can, which could be the reason for the friction burn mark or whatever it is.
So today I didn't put the thumb in further than the first joint.
So weird, because I'm not used to that at all.
So wonder if the PSO will make the thumb hole on the Paradox diffrently then.

My experiences in bowling have shown that the thumb in the ball is really not needed. Having your thumb in the ball is more of a comfort and convenience thing, or maybe like having a rudder on a boat......since it helps guide you in the right general direction. But it is really not necessary to bowl well.

Found this out when I cut the tip of my thumb off, while working on my car one summer. Had to bowl thumbless the next season. There was a definite adjustment period, but success came eventually.

I've thrown the Scandal and I own a Widow or two. The cores of those Legend balls make them very continuous hooking. Whereas that Scandal is angular and rolly on the backend. Neither of them is my cup of tea, since I never see enough oil to use either one of them!
